Trump has invaded Venezuela, abducted its sitting president, and announced it intends to take over its oil operations.

Chevron is the only US oil company currently operating in Venezuela, and therefore holds tremendous leverage. So far it has not publicly supported Trump's plan, but that could change.

We have a tiny window of opportunity *right now* to stop this invasion from escalating.

Tell Chevron: respect Venezuela's sovereignty and reject Trump’s plan.

Trump has invaded Venezuela, abducted its sitting president, and announced that it intends to take over its oil operations.

This isn’t about stopping drug cartels or protecting America’s national security. This is about Trump's insatiable greed and lust for power.

But despite Trump’s claims that American fossil fuel giants will “fix” Venezuela’s oil infrastructure, none of the companies have spoken out in favour of Trump’s plan yet. That includes Chevron, the only US oil company currently operating in Venezuela.

How Chevron responds could either spell the end of Venezuelan sovereignty, or stop Trump’s disastrous plan in its tracks.

Trump talks a big game, but doesn’t always follow through. We can still end this invasion before it escalates further, but only if there’s overwhelming pressure on Chevron to reject the plan.

Sign the urgent petition to Chevron: respect Venezuela's sovereignty and reject Trump’s plan.

Venezuela’s untapped oil reserves may appear as dollar signs to Donald Trump, but oil executives might not necessarily see it that way.

Oil prices dropped 20% in 2025 — the lowest they have been since 2020. Creating more supply right now might not entice oil companies as much as Trump thinks — especially in Venezuela where the infrastructure is falling apart and will require massive investment to repair.

That, alongside the legal ramifications of drilling and processing oil alongside an illegal invasion could very well discourage oil companies from going along with Trump’s vision.

But the Trump effect is powerful, with governments and industries worldwide kowtowing to his greedy, divisive politics.

So as Chevron and other oil companies decide how to respond - it’s crucial that we build a huge people-powered outcry.

Tell Chevron and other oil companies: reject Trump’s plan.

We’ve campaigned against Chevron before, and we won. When the company was fueling the Myanmar military’s brutal coup, we launched a huge outcry, worked with shareholders, protested outside its offices, and eventually pushed the company to exit Myanmar.

Let’s do it again, and help protect Venezuela from Trump.
