cartels or protecting America’s national security.
</SPAN><STRONG>This is about Trump's insatiable greed and lust for
power.</STRONG></P>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400">But despite Trump’s claims that
American fossil fuel giants will “fix” Venezuela’s oil
infrastructure, none of the companies have spoken out in favour of
Trump’s plan yet.</SPAN><STRONG> That includes Chevron, the only US
oil company currently operating in Venezuela. </STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>How Chevron responds</STRONG><SPAN
style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400"> could either spell the end of Venezuelan
sovereignty, or stop Trump’s disastrous plan in its
tracks. </SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400">Trump talks a big game, but
doesn’t always follow through. </SPAN><STRONG>We can still end this
invasion before it escalates further, but only if there’s
overwhelming pressure on Chevron to reject the
plan. </STRONG></P>

may appear as dollar signs to Donald Trump, <STRONG>but oil
executives might not necessarily see it that
way. </STRONG></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400">Oil prices dropped 20% in 2025 —
the lowest they have been since 2020. Creating more supply right now
might not entice oil companies as much as Trump thinks — especially
in Venezuela where the infrastructure is falling apart and will
require massive investment to repair. </SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400">That, alongside the legal
ramifications of drilling and processing oil alongside an illegal
invasion </SPAN><STRONG>could very well discourage oil companies
from going along with Trump’s vision. </STRONG></P>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400">But the Trump effect is powerful,
with governments and industries worldwide kowtowing to his greedy,
divisive politics. </SPAN></P>
<P><STRONG>So as Chevron and other oil companies decide how to
respond - it’s crucial that we build a huge people-powered
outcry. </STRONG></P>
