  On behalf of the co-convenors, we are pleased to invite you, online or in-person, to a High-Level Rapid Reaction Panel in response to the long-awaited Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on climate change.

  A Verdict for the Planet: Legal and Political Reflections on the ICJ Climate Ruling

  Co-sponsored by the Governments of Colombia, Costa Rica and Vanuatu, Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), Pacific Community, UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change, World’s Youth for Climate Justice, and the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL), this timely panel will convene high-level legal and political voices within 24 hours of the ICJ’s decision.

  The session will offer accessible insights into the Advisory Opinion’s key findings, explore its implications for international law and climate justice, and equip diplomats, civil society, and the media with rights-based framing and analysis.
