                        An investigation revealed that radioactive water from the United Kingdom's most sensitive nuclear weapons site leaked into the sea, and the public was never told. The UK's Ministry of Defence allowed old, poorly maintained pipes at a nuclear weapons to burst again and again, flooding areas where nuclear warheads are stored. Radioactive water flowed into Loch Long — and for years, officials fought to hide it. This is about a culture of secrecy that puts public health, the environment, and our safety at risk.



                        Sign the petition to demand the UK Ministry of Defence and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency fix these dangerous failures and end the cover-ups for good.



                        Regulators found this was not a one-time accident but the result of systemic neglect. Nearly half the base's components were past their design life. Safety repairs were delayed. Leaks happened in 2010, 2019, and 2021. And for six years, the Ministry of Defence fought to keep inspection reports hidden. That is unacceptable. When radioactive material enters public waters, the public deserves to know immediately, not years later after an information battle.
