Final EACOP action: watch the premiere of EACOP: A Crude




Wow, what a week it’s been. I am so happy and humbled by this journey that 
we’ve taken together.

You are one of over ten thousand people from over a hundred different 
countries who took part in our week of action against EACOP.

Now, on our final day together, we’re going back to Africa and to the people 
who are most critical in the fight against this pipeline, and most at risk 
from its impacts - the people in Uganda and Tanzania.

Today, I’m asking you to join us for the world premiere of an independent 
documentary, "EACOP: A Crude Reality". Watch and share the powerful story of 
the local resistance to Total Energies' mega oil pipeline.

Local communities in East Africa are not only bearing the brunt of the 
climate crisis, but they suffer firsthand from the disastrous consequences 
of a new breed of colonialism - the corporate one.

It’s the people in Uganda and Tanzania that are being kicked off their land, 
whose livelihoods and water supply are being endangered by oil spills. And 
who are being attacked, harassed and intimidated when they speak out. [1]

It’s their stories the world needs to hear most.

So please, set aside 40 minutes to watch this short documentary today. It’s 
our biggest ask yet, but educating ourselves and sharing the stories of our 
friends in Uganda and Tanzania is so important in the fight against Total 
and its destructive pipeline.

You’ve already done so much. I hope I can count on you to do this one last 
thing and watch and share this film with your friends today.
