Dear Sir or Madam,

Greetings from The Green Schools Project Uganda. The "Green Schools Project" 
this year 2021, will be running for the consecutive 8th year. The 2ND Season 
rains are in full force, September to December, our 1,000,000 Trees planting 
campaign kicks off on 15th of October 2021. This comes as a response to 
Climate Change to address the increasing heat waves, trees will be able to 
provide the most needed shade for the communities identified above. 
Similarly, planted trees will help carbon sequestering by capturing carbon 
dioxide from the atmosphere and transforming it into biomass through 
photosynthesis. To achieve the set goal of planting 1,000,000 trees we need 
volunteers to help in the raising of seedlings, watering of seedlings in our 
nurseries, weeding, pruning, seed beds sowing and management, sorting of 
seedlings, loading and offloading seedlings at planting sites, planting of 
tree seedlings, project activity documenting, help in our fundraising

IMPORTANCE OF TREES IN URBAN SETTINGS:

Trees help regulate the local climate, produce oxygen, improve soil quality, 
attract wild life, and absorb CO2! In this article we are focus on their 
Carbon Capture capabilities, and how much CO2 they actually absorb. Did you 
know, one mature tree is capable of absorbing 22kg of Carbon per year, and 
that means 1 million absorb 22 million Kilograms of Carbon from the air.

TREE SEEDLINGS NURSERY BEDS MANAGEMENT:

As we kick off for the 2ND season Green Schools Tree Planting project 
activities, we need volunteers in day today activities of managing 
seedlings, sorting, packaging, loading, offloading, distribution, and

FUNDRAISING:

Our budget for this years Green Schools Tree Planting Project is US$ 95,000, 
covering activities of planting tools, materials, transportation/all 
logistics, seedlings, volunteers and staff welfare, project activity 
documentation, community media education and awareness, in this regard we 
need your help and partnership in raising these funds, through online secure

BUDONGO FOREST RESTORATION:

Every year in collaboration with National Forestry Authority, we identify 
degraded natural forest lands, we carry out tree species analysis, and we 
plant the identified areas, this year 2021, we target to plant 100,000 trees 
in various degraded or encroached forest lands, for more details on on our

Under this project, we have volunteer opportunities as above e.g. seed beds

TREE FOR TOURISM:

Every year in collaboration with National Forestry Authority, Ministry of 
Tourism, Uganda Tourism Board & Tourism sector stakeholders, we identify 
tourism sites that require tree replenishment, we carry out tree species 
analysis, and we plant the identified areas, this year 2021, we target to 
plant 100,000 trees in identified tourism sites e.g. in Urban & Rural 
tourism sites to promote conservation of indigenous tree species, and

CONSERVATION PLANTING

To prevent animal and human settlement conflicts, and promote urban 
settlement nature conservation in urban areas, each year we identify urban 
community managed forests where we plant specific trees that will benefit

GREENING CARAVAN:

All the above mentioned tree planting projects, require transportation 
services to deliver seedlings to different beneficiary sites, under this

COVID19 RESTRICTIONS:

Up until now, Uganda has had 122,405 cumulative confirmed COVID19 Cases, 
3,130 confirmed deaths, & 15,147 cumulative recoveries. The Country has been 
through lock-downs, sector restrictions, and currently under-going partial 
lock-down to prevent and control further spread of the virus. As a Country, 
a total of 1,777,685 Ugandans have received the 1st dose of vaccination and 
the process is on-going, as preventive measures, we had restrictions for 
some Countries.
