This summer, we’re seeing the devastating impacts of the climate crisis all 
around the world.
Just this past week, Death Valley, California, reached 130F (54.4C): what 
could be the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth.

In June, the temperature in the small Siberian town of Verkhoyansk — usually 
one of the coldest places on Earth — soared to 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, 
breaking an all-time record for the Arctic.

In Bangladesh, a “one in twenty-year flood event” happened for the fifth 
time in 20 years, displacing millions of people.

And on opposite coasts of the US, Hurricane Isaias and the Apple Fire 
defined the “new normal” for catastrophic weather events.
