                  Dear friends, 

                  Trump just said the US is “locked and loaded” -- ready to attack Iran. Iran’s responded saying they’re ready. And this tit for tat is. This horrific proxy war is spiraling out of control, and more than ever people-power is needed to help stop it!

                  100,000 people have already died in this awful conflict. Saudi has bombed Yemen relentlessly, and the Iran-backed Houthi rebels have used every trick in the book to fight back. Now the war has reached a crushing stalemate and it’s becoming very clear: no amount of military might will end this horror -- the only solution is a negotiated peace treaty!

                  Add your name calling on all parties to urgently de-escalate and come to the negotiating table. Let’s quickly get one million, and Avaaz will pull out ALL the stops to make sure leaders hear our call! 

End the war in Yemen! 

                  Days ago, the Houthis blasted Saudi Arabia’s oil refineries. This is huge -- not only did it cripple half of Saudi Arabia’s oil production, it showed that the Houthis have new, sophisticated capabilities that put Saudi in much greater risk than before. 

                  We’ve seen how brutal and unpredictable Saudi Arabia’s Mohammad Bin Salman is -- he can retaliate in a very deplorable way. Between him and Trump’s trigger-happy anti-Iran sentiment -- there is a serious risk that this war could completely unravel. 

                  And while stopping the war in Yemen won’t end the bigger conflict with Iran, bringing all sides of the war to the negotiating table is our best chance to de-escalate the tension. And it won’t be easy -- peace talks have fizzled out in the past. But in these moments of frightening escalation, it is our best hope to stop further bloodshed. 

                  No one can raise an alarm like the Avaaz community. Let’s make our call for peace impossible to ignore -- and Avaaz will pull out all the stops to make sure leaders hear us and act:
