March on September 20th and 27th for a cleaner, safer world for all  
                       
                              This Friday, march for #TheFutureWeWant. Demand urgent and inclusive climate action during the Global Climate Strikes on September 20th and 27th. 
                             
                       
                              Dear friends,

                              Created by the privileged few, the climate emergency will affect vulnerable communities hardest and strongest. Far too often, those bearing the brunt of deadly disasters, extreme heatwaves and rising seas are least responsible for the runaway emissions driving the climate crisis.

                              It’s time for change.

                              To create the future we want, we must demand inclusive climate action that takes the plight of marginalized communities into account.

                              On September 20th and 27th, I encourage you to march for inclusive climate action by participating in the Global Climate Strikes. We need you to speak up for those who may not be able to advocate for themselves.

                              C40 mayors recognize the transformative power of inclusive climate action and are already taking substantive steps to reduce carbon emissions in service of healthier, safer, more resilient and more equitable communities.

                              More than 50 cities around the world have now made ambitious commitments to C40’s Green & Healthy Streets Declaration, Advancing Zero Waste Declaration and Net Zero Carbon Buildings Declaration to advance climate action and improve the lives of people everywhere. On October 9-12, mayors will bring these unique solutions to Copenhagen for the C40 World Mayors Summit, where we’ll work together to make the benefits of inclusive climate action a reality in the world’s most influential cities.

                              Mayors are acting with urgency, but leaders across all levels of society must do more today to protect citizens most impacted by the climate crisis, especially those least represented in the corridors of power.

                              Join millions fighting for the future: find a local climate strike event near you by visiting GlobalClimateStrike.net. Then, tell the world why you’re taking a stand. Post a message to your national, regional, and local leaders on social media and tag @c40cities. Urge them to prioritize inclusive climate action today.

                              Only together can we create a safe, healthy world for everyone. Will you join us in the fight for a more inclusive future?
