Прямо сейчас десятки молодых людей проводят сидячие забастовки в Европейском парламенте!
Hi,
Right now dozens of young people are doing a sit-in inside the European Parliament!
They are calling for, as we have been the last few months, for MEPs to take the climate emergency seriously. And by doing so, to use their votes to block the new European Commission unless they are able to turn their feeble words into radical commitments, and in turn action.
All over the world, young people have been the moral voice on an issue that threatens everything we love. Climate breakdown and ecological collapse are a very real future unless our leaders are willing to show the courage necessary to act.
Soon MEPs will vote, and right now as you read this, young people are taking over the European Parliament to build pressure - let’s stand with them by amplifying their calls so that everyone knows what’s happening right now:
Send an urgent Tweet now!
This incredible action is taking the voices of millions of Europeans straight into the heart of the European Union!
Science tells us we have just 11 years to avoid the worst effects of climate breakdown, but the leaders supposed to tackle this are asleep at the wheel. [1] The prospect of inaction is something we simply can’t afford - and if a new European Commission is confirmed, without a strong commitment to radical climate action, we’ll lose nearly half the time needed to secure our future.
Right now, young people from the Fridays For Future and Youth For Climate movements are showing courage and bravery in fighting for our shared home - for a future with renewable energy, clear air and justice. Let’s support them wherever we may be by making sure their calls reverberate outside the walls of the European Parliament.
Send an urgent Tweet now!
Last month we joined millions of people around the world in the biggest climate demonstration in history to send a message to our political leaders that we can’t wait any longer for them to act on this crisis. [2] And we will keep taking action until we build a future that puts people and planet first. Today let’s do our bit to make sure these young people are heard.
In solidarity,
Fatima (London), Virginia (Madrid), Olga (Bologna), and the entire WeMove Europe team.
