свидетельствует о том, что наступление на экологическое и природоохранное движение 
- не российская и беларусская специфика, а глобальное явление. 

Противопоставить этому можно только нашу собственную активность.
В данном аспекте - продумать и организовать систематическое и системное информирование населения по природоохранным и экологическим вопросам. 

Выйти с нашими просветительскими, образовательными и просто информационными ресурсами - к народу.

Волны увольнений и закрытий продолжают захлестывать средства массовой информации, освещающие вопросы, лежащие в основе нашей демократии. Освещение экологических вопросов часто в первую очередь сокращается в крупных издательствах.
Это означает, что основные издания с большими бюджетами часто пренебрегают многими угрозами, с которыми сталкивается наш живой мир. Тем временем журнал Earth Island Journal неустанно бьет тревогу.
В прошлом году мы публиковали нелицеприятные материалы и репортажи, которые не интересуют корпоративные СМИ. К ним относятся отчеты о:
    Кампания по прекращению соревнований по уничтожению диких животных в Соединенных Штатах, которые ежегодно приводят к массовому уничтожению десятков тысяч койотов, рысей, лис и других животных за призовые деньги.
    Мириады угроз, с которыми сталкивается невероятно разнообразный по биологическому разнообразию бразильский регион Пантанал, лучшее в мире место обитания ягуаров.

    Масштабный проект по бурению нефтяных скважин, который ставит под угрозу дельту Окаванго в Африке и местные общины коренных народов.

                       Dear Friend of the Journal,

                        I’ve been thinking a lot about perseverance. Waves of layoffs and shutdowns continue to hit media outlets covering the issues that inform our democracy. Environmental coverage is often the first to get axed in the downsizing at large publishers.


                        That means mainstream publications with big budgets often neglect the many threats facing our living world. Meanwhile, Earth Island Journal has been tirelessly sounding the alarm.

                        In the past year, we’ve run hard-hitting features and reports corporate media isn’t interested in. These include, reports about:

                          a.. The campaign to end wildlife killing contests in the United States that lead to the massacre of tens of thousands of coyotes, bobcats, foxes, and other animals for prize money every year.

                          b.. The myriad threats facing Brazil’s incredibly biodiverse Pantanal region, the world’s best jaguar habitat.

                          c.. A massive oil drilling project that endangers Africa’s Okavango Delta and local Indigenous communities.
