                        Dear assessment experts,
                        We are pleased to inform you that UNEP has issued a 
call for nominations to provide expertise on the Multi-disciplinary Expert 
Scientific Advisory Group (MESAG), which will provide advice to ensure the 
scientific credibility of UNEP’s flagship environmental assessment, the 
seventh Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7).

                        UNEP is seeking experts in the areas below:

                              State of the Environment and Outlooks
                              Environmental themes:
                                a.. Air (atmosphere)
                                b.. Biodiversity
                                c.. Land and soil
                                d.. Oceans and coasts
                                e.. Freshwater
                              Triple planetary crisis:
                                a.. Climate change mitigation and adaptation
                                b.. Biodiversity and nature loss
                                c.. Pollution and waste
                              Outlooks and scenarios:
                                a.. Modelling transformational pathways in 
energy, food and circularity
                                b.. Environmental and socioeconomic impacts 
of business as usual scenarios
                                c.. Environmental and socioeconomic impacts 
of 'with commitments' scenarios
                                d.. Environmental and socioeconomic impacts 
of target-seeking scenarios
                                e.. Regional and sub-regional outlooks
                                f.. Scenarios based on literature reviews


                              Policy
                              Solutions pathways:
                                a.. Policy analysis
                                b.. Policy development
                                c.. Policy effectiveness
                                d.. Incentivizing technological change
                                e.. Incentivizing behavioural change
                              Transformational solutions pathways for:
                                a.. Energy systems
                                b.. Food systems
                                c.. Materials/waste/circularity systems
                                d.. Climate change adaptation as it applies 
to these systems
                              Analysis of solutions pathways:
                                a.. Economic impacts of solutions pathways
                                b.. Social impacts of solutions pathways
                                c.. Impacts on indigenous peoples of 
solutions pathways
                              Sustainable development goals:
                                a.. Equity impacts of solutions pathways
                                b.. Gender impacts of solutions pathways
                                c.. Impacts on poverty and hunger
                                d.. Impacts on human well-being



                        Nominees should be available to participate in the 
MESAG for the entire period of the preparation and finalization of the 
seventh edition of the Global Environment Outlook and its accompanying 
Summary for Policymakers, likely until mid-2025.
                        Nominations should be submitted no later than 15 
December 2022 through the nomination portal.
