human rights and the environment. </B><BR><BR><B>The “Omnibus
proposal” is the first in a series of deregulation bills designed to
weaken EU rules</B> on deforestation, fossil fuels, and
greenwashing. <BR><BR>If it passes, <B>corporations will be
freer than ever to destroy forests, pump in dirty energy, and
mislead us</B> about their climate record. And once this door is
opened, more rollbacks will follow.<BR><BR>But here’s the good news:
<B>the European Parliament hasn’t voted yet. MEPs still have the
power to stop this</B>—and they will act if we show them that
rolling back protections is politically toxic.<BR><BR><A

people want better protections for the planet</B> and better
accountability for corporations – public opinion polls show. And the
<B>EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
does exactly that – it makes companies responsible for preventing
human rights abuses and environmental harm throughout their global
supply chains </B>by making them legally liable if they
fail to implement sustainable business
practices.<BR><BR><B>Lobbyists argue that deregulation will free
business from bureaucratic hell </B>and extra costs. But the truth
is, cutting these laws means more human rights violations, more
deforestation, and more climate chaos — while responsible businesses
are left at a disadvantage. <B>The Omnibus isn’t about creating less
hassle; it’s about letting polluters off the hook.</B><BR><BR>Our
community has fought and won against corporate lobbyists before —
from stopping toxic trade deals to securing bans on single-use
plastics, and even the CSDDD. Together,<B> we can protect Europe’s
hard-won regulations</B> and stop this dangerous rollback in its
tracks.</P>
