150,000 people have died.</B> Entire cities have been
laid to waste. Refugee camps have been bombed, civilians
massacred, and the threat of famine looms over hundreds
of thousands of families. In fact, <B>almost 25 million
people — half the population — are going
hungry.</B><BR><BR>Recent attacks on displacement camps
near El Fasher in Darfur have killed hundreds and forced
over 400,000 people to flee once again — often with
nowhere to go. In Darfur alone, <B>more than 600,000
people are facing deadly famine
conditions.</B><BR><BR>Despite the immense suffering,
Sudan has been largely ignored by the international
community. Other global crises in different areas of the
world have pushed Sudan's agony off the front pages -
but that does not make the need for urgent action any
less real.<BR><BR><B>Sudan's civilians — many of them
children — have already endured the unimaginable.</B>
They deserve more than our heartbreak; they deserve our
solidarity, our advocacy, and our urgent action.</P>
