<P>One of Malaysia’s largest timber and palm oil corporations is
<STRONG>deforesting huge swathes of rainforest in Borneo
without consent</STRONG>, decimating endangered gibbon, clouded
leopard and pangolin habitats.</P>
<P>When a local, four-person NGO helped expose the destruction, the
<STRONG>timber giant slapped them with a $1.8 million
lawsuit</STRONG> to silence them!</P>
<P>We know it won’t end there. The family that owns this company is
worth over $400 million – and they can afford to hire high priced
lawyers to legally bully these forest defenders.</P>
<P>But if enough of us chip in, we can <STRONG>give this small but
mighty NGO the money they need to fight back in
court </STRONG>and win. Their next legal deadline is fast

<P>This timber giant doesn’t even need to win this case in court to
win.</P>
<P>It just needs to <STRONG>bankrupt the SAVE Rivers NGO</STRONG>
with an expensive lawsuit to shut down the campaign, or keep the
case dragging on indefinitely to silence dissent. Either tactic will
allow it to continue its unethical logging operations.</P>
<P>But letting that happen would set a <STRONG>dangerous precedent
against environmental activists and local land rights </STRONG>--
and<STRONG> </STRONG>peoples' homes and endangered
animals' habitats will continue to be wiped out by huge logging
companies and palm oil plantations.</P>
<P>That’s why we need your help. Lawsuits like this are crucial in
our fight to protect people and the planet from corporate greed.
Together we can give SAVE Rivers a fighting chance to beat this
lawsuit and set new legal precedent that protects activists against
this type of corporate bullying.</P>
