tearing down and burning their rainforest homes to grow palm oil

<P>Multinational corporations’ greed for cheap palm oil has
decimated the rainforests where orangutans live. Every year,
millions of acres of pristine rainforest are destroyed -- and
replaced by huge palm oil plantations.</P>
<P><STRONG>Deprived of their natural habitat, orangutans
starve</STRONG>. When they feed off palm fruits on plantations,
they’re shot. <STRONG>Villagers often find dead orangutans</STRONG>
-- in 2018, one unlucky orangutan was shot 130 times in Borneo.</P>

<P>The industry had a firm deadline to achieve its no-deforestation
goal by 2020. But instead of actually doing anything about it,
<STRONG>it was all empty promises and expert
greenwashing</STRONG>. </P>
<P>Campaigning to push the palm oil industry to do the right thing
costs money -- whether it’s with brand-jamming ads and billboards,
viral videos, or commissioning research to dig up dirt on them.</P>
<P><STRONG>We may never match the deep pockets of Unilever and
Nestlé, but when all of us chip in a little bit, we become powerful
