<P>Every year in Brazil, an area <STRONG>115 times the size of
Manhattan is wiped out </STRONG>to make room for soy farms.
<STRONG>And this carnage is mainly funded by a French giant: BNP
Paribas.</STRONG></P>
<P>The company claims to care about helping combat climate change,
and yet it <STRONG>remains one of the largest funders of
deforestation in the world.</STRONG> A few days ago, during a
“zero-carbon” event in Paris, BNP boasted about implementing binding
policies to stop deforestation caused by the soy industry.
<STRONG>But it was all lip service.</STRONG></P>
<P>Let’s show BNP executives that <STRONG>we see through their empty
words, and hold their feet to the fire until they act.</STRONG></P>

<STRONG>BNP Paribas has funded soybean traders to the tune of
billions</STRONG> over the past four years.</P>
<P>Now <STRONG>Indigenous communities in Brazil are paying the price
as</STRONG> <STRONG>they watch their rivers, forests, and all the
biodiversity</STRONG> get destroyed at breakneck pace.</P>
<P>BNP is hoping its empty promises will keep us at bay, but until
we see concrete action, we’re pushing the company in the global
spotlight and holding them accountable until they act. <STRONG>But
this will only work if thousands of us join.</STRONG></P>
