<P><BIG>Temperatures are soaring to historic highs this summer - ravaged by
drought, wildfires are raging from France to Poland. [1] <STRONG>This climate
breakdown has even set the Arctic on fire!! </STRONG>[2] Scientists are warning
that this will be the new normal unless our leaders start acting like there’s an
emergency. [3]</BIG></P>
<P><BIG>Next month, world leaders are meeting in New York to put forward
ambitious commitments to tackle the climate crisis - <STRONG>right now the EU is
lagging behind and planning to go empty-handed!</STRONG> [4] This would be a
massive blow to global efforts and put us on course to catastrophe.</BIG></P>
<P><BIG><STRONG>Now is the perfect time to push for serious climate
action.</STRONG> The UN Secretary-General has just written to the EU with an
urgent ask that they get serious and show desperately needed leadership. [5]
Together we can supercharge his call and demand that our leaders cancel their
summer vacations to <STRONG>hold an emergency climate summit to deal with this

<P><BIG>Yes, the Arctic is on fire. <STRONG>No, this is not science
fiction.</STRONG> This is life on our planet right now, and it’s about to get a
whole lot worse if governments don’t start taking radical action.</BIG></P>
<P><BIG>The world is looking to Europe - with Trump pulling out of the Paris
agreement, and Brazil’s Bolsonaro taking a chainsaw to the Amazon - global
leadership is needed to steer us away from further climate breakdown. [6]

<P><BIG><STRONG>And there is hope.</STRONG> Last month, Finland assumed the
presidency of the EU, and they’re committed to making climate action a hallmark
of their presidency. In fact, the Finish prime minister said he wants to turn
the EU into a climate hero. [8] That - along with hundreds of new MEPs entering
the Parliament on a ‘green wave’ - means <STRONG>we’ve never been in a better
position to push for serious climate action.</STRONG></BIG></P>
<P><BIG>So let’s call our leaders back from their holidays and demand they meet
urgently to form a plan to take on this climate emergency.</BIG></P>
