                        Urgent: France's biggest marine park has shut down and orcas Wikie and her son Keijo have been abandoned in run-down, algae filled pools.

            Orcas Wikie and Keijo have been filmed swimming in decrepit pools filled with algae. France's biggest marine park shut down in January but they still haven't found a safe sanctuary for these orcas. 

            Public pressure is mounting on Marineland. Will you join more than 47,000 other Ekō members and sign the petition telling the marine park to not abandon Wikie and Keijo and find them a safe sanctuary?

            What’s really frustrating is that France’s marine park is going against the law designed to end the mistreatment of animals. Wikie and Keijo have already suffered enough, especially after the loss of two family members in recent years. Keeping them together and sending them to a sanctuary is the only solution that puts their welfare first.

            Marineland originally wanted to send Wikie and Keijo to a zoo in Spain with a terrible track record of looking after animals—several orcas have died there. After thousands of people opposed this plan it was shelved. But now Marineland must be held responsible for finding an alternative safe sanctuary for Wikie and Keijo.

            This is where the Ekō community can support Wikie and Keijo in living a life of freedom and safety. As a global community we can create worldwide attention on the fate of these orcas and pressure officials to make the right decision.
