                        We've all been hearing about the AI revolution that 
is swiftly overtaking our daily realities. AI is everywhere now: it's at our 
jobs, in schools, even plagiarizing famous animated artists' styles. It's 
obvious to most people that we need some kind of guardrails for this 
rapidly-developing technology. Except, of course, to Congressional 
Republicans.

                        Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives 
recently proposed an addition to its budget bill that would ban state 
regulation of AI for a whole 10 years. Then, they voted to pass the bill, 
which could become law if the Senate doesn't stop it.

                        At the pace AI is currently developing, who knows 
what it will look like in 10 years? Ten years into the future, it could have 
already reshaped our whole world. This poses huge risks for the American 
people.

                        Already, AI is being shown to exhibit racialized 
bias and discrimination, including when used for job hiring. Corporations 
have been using it to artificially raise prices and rental costs for 
housing. It's already leading to job displacement as employers seek to cut 
costs. On top of that, AI deepfakes are becoming more and more realistic, 
making it harder to identify what's actually real.

                        This sneaky anti-regulatory provision isn't about 
helping everyday people. It's about lobbying and money in politics — and 
protecting already mega-rich technology corporations and their Trumpian 
CEOs.

                        We must  demand that the Senate push back against 
the House's recklessness before it is too late. We must protect ourselves 
from the consequences of unrestricted AI! Sign the petition!
