                        In the wake of devastating wildfires across Los Angeles, President Biden has promised comprehensive federal support for disaster response, including covering 100% of costs and providing significant resources. This is an important step towards protecting the LA community, but we must not overlook the silent victims of this tragedy — the countless abandoned pets and displaced wildlife. If the funding promised by Biden included local shelters and wildlife rescue, this would provide essential resources to save animals and eventually reunite pets with their families or find them new homes.

                        Before the fires, these shelters were already at capacity while caring for hundreds of animals.
