Трамп баллотировался на пост президента, пообещав расправиться со своими политическими врагами. Теперь Конгресс США, возможно, вот-вот предоставит ему инструменты, необходимые для ликвидации любой некоммерческой организации, которую он захочет, включая Avaaz. 
Законопроект, получивший название “убийца некоммерческих организаций”, может привести к взиманию огромных налогов с пожертвований, собранных "Авааз" и другими прогрессивными организациями. А поскольку мы на 100% финансируемся за счет небольших онлайн-пожертвований и зарегистрированы в США, мы уязвимы.

Now the US Congress could be about to hand him the tools he needs to take down any non-profit he wants, including Avaaz.  A bill -- dubbed the “non-profit killer” -- could see huge taxes levied on donations raised by Avaaz and other progressive organisations. And because we’re 100% funded by small online donations, and registered in the US, we're vulnerable. This could just be the start. We’ve campaigned hard against Trump’s vicious brand of politics for nearly a decade. We know he holds a grudge. And he’s more powerful than he’s ever been. But one thing’s for sure -- we won’t be silenced. So we have to protect ourselves. And fast. So we've put together a defence plan -- covering everything from legal protections to moving Avaaz out of the US completely. But all of it will be costly, and we already need funds for our critical campaigns. It’s why we’re launching an Emergency Survival Fund. We only have a week left before he takes over -- if enough of us chip in before Inauguration Day on January 20th, we'll have the resources we need to protect Avaaz from Trump.                   We’re not starting from scratch. When Trump won power in 2016, our movement created a similar protection fund. It meant we were ready, and safe to continue our bold campaigning against far-right politics.

                  Now, eight years on, we're at risk again -- and with Trump in control of both houses of Congress, and with allies in the Supreme Court and Silicon Valley, we simply can't afford to be unprepared.

                  The Emergency Survival Fund will give the resources we need to keep us safe -- making sure we can focus on our campaigns when they're needed more than ever. If we raise enough, we could:

                    a.. Fund an expert legal team to help shield Avaaz from Trump’s vengeful policies;
                    b.. Pay for non-profit consultants to advise us on relocating Avaaz out of the US and into other friendlier jurisdictions if needed -- while ensuring that our team stays focused on Avaaz’s mission and campaigns;
                    c.. Ensure the safety of our staff while protecting our infrastructure, physical assets and the integrity of our members’ donations; and
                    d.. Power a crisis response team that allows us to prepare ahead and operationalise quickly whenever similar legislative threats arise.
