  Dear All,

I am reaching out to invite you to contribute to The Palgrave Handbook of
Nature-Based Solutions, a Major Reference Work I am leading as Editor in
Chief.

This Handbook brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers,
and thought leaders to explore cutting-edge insights into the policies,
governance models, and technologies driving the development and
implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) worldwide.

The Handbook seeks to consolidate and advance expert knowledge on the
application of NBS to address global challenges, including rapid
urbanization, climate change, natural disasters, and biodiversity loss.

Contributors will provide perspectives on how NBS can transform societal
challenges into opportunities for sustainable and green growth while
delivering multiple environmental, economic, and social benefits.

  Chapter Scope and Objectives
Chapters are 10,000 words in length and will comprehensively explore
topics such as:
a.. Sustainable Urbanization: Strategies like green roofs, urban
forests, and green corridors to enhance liveability and ecosystem services
in cities.
b.. Ecosystem Restoration: Restoration of soils, forests, freshwater
systems, and coastal and marine ecosystems to improve resilience and
biodiversity.
c.. Ecosystem-Based Mitigation (EbM): Approaches such as conservation
agriculture, sustainable forestry, and marine conservation to mitigate
climate impacts.
d.. Ecosystem-Based Adaptation (EbA): Adaptation strategies like
agro-biodiversity conservation and water-sensitive forest management for
climate resilience.
e.. Ecosystem-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (EDRR): Applications of NBS
in reducing disaster risks from floods, droughts, earthquakes, and
landslides.
f.. Financing NBS: Innovative mechanisms such as green bonds, blended
finance, debt-for-nature swaps, and payments for ecosystem services.

  Submission Details
If you are interested in contributing, please provide me with the
following:
    a.. A proposed chapter title
b.. Names and affiliations of authors or co-authors
c.. Submission date (any time between now and mid-2026)
d.. Confirmation that the chapter will be 10,000 words in length

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a landmark reference work. I
look forward to hearing from you and hope you will join this important
project.

  Kind regards,

  Robert C. Brears
Editor in Chief, The Palgrave Handbook of Nature-Based Solutions
