C40 at COP28
All eyes are on the World Climate Action Summit today at COP28, convening national, subnational and civil society leaders, business, youth, Indigenous Peoples' organisations, frontline communities and more to discuss concrete actions and plans to scale climate action.
Today also sees the first-ever Local Climate Action Summit hosted by the COP28 President and Michael R. Bloomberg, which will spotlight the role of local leaders in cutting emissions, unlocking resources and building resilience.
With cities responsible for 75% of the world’s carbon emissions, it’s clear that what mayors and subnational leaders do is crucial for meeting local, national and global climate targets.
