                                Join the Technical Dialogue of the Global Stocktake 

                                The secretariat of UN Climate Change, in collaboration with the High-Level Champions, Nigel Topping of the COP 26 Presidency (UK) and Mahmoud Mohieldin of the COP 27 Presidency (Egypt) have launched an Expression of Interest process to assist in inviting cities, subnational regions, businesses, investors and civil society to the first technical dialogue of the first global stocktake (GST) taking place during the UN Climate Change conference in Bonn in June. 

                                The GST is an official process under the Paris Agreement that provides critical information for countries and stakeholders to measure the collective progress being made towards the Paris Agreement goals in this critical decade for climate action, and to identify gaps and opportunities for increased action and support.

                                As non-Party stakeholders play an important role in the GST, the recently published information note by the co-facilitators of the technical dialogue outlined their approach and how 45 non-Party stakeholders will be invited to engage with 60 technical experts from Party delegations. 

                                As part of the Glasgow Climate Pact from COP 26, Parties welcomed the improved Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action for enhancing ambition 2021-2025 from the High-Level Champions, where supporting the GST is one of the main priorities and uses the timelines of the GST process to build and plan around, and also encouraged the High-Level Champions to support the effective participation of non-Party stakeholders in the GST. 

                                As such, the High-Level Champions are encouraging active participation of non-Party stakeholders in the technical dialogue to support Parties in this process. To be considered for participation, please submit your expression of interest available on this webpage before Thursday, 19 May 23:59 CEST.
