Hi,

We all know we need major investments in wind and solar if we are to keep 
the wheels of society spinning. Now the EU is delivering a tool to boost 
green investments!

This is huge. The tool would label different investments, with green marking 
out those that are most sustainable. Banks like HSBC - who put some £6.4bn 
into new oil and gas in 2021 alone - wouldn’t be able to hide the impact of 
their funds.[1]

But the big businesses that have been a major part of the problem are now 
working to water down how the tool would work. Right now they’ve lobbied to 
have gas and nuclear labelled as ‘green’. This would lock us into a cycle of 
pollution for decades to come.

They're rigging the rules to make more profits whatever the cost. But the 
ink isn't dry on the deal yet. The EU is coming under increased pressure to 
revise its draft plan…

To turn this controversy into real change we need to act. This community has 
the power to send shock waves through the discussion. The corporations 
bending the ears of European leaders are smothering the topic with technical 
details. They’re hoping those of us who care about our planet won't catch 
how important this is.
