                                Dear friends in South Africa,  
                                In just a few hours, the United Nations will vote on an historic resolution to show Russia’s President Vladimir Putin that the international community is united for peace.

                                But now all eyes are on South Africa, and it's under immense pressure from Putin to oppose the resolution. And as a key actor, South Africa can shape the vote, and move smaller, undecided countries. With a flood of messages we can get South Africa's president and his top diplomats to join the world in opposing Putin’s colonial war. Send an urgent tweet now:

                                A personal message calling on leaders to vote for the UN resolution, and stand with Ukraine, will have the most impact. You can use the following tips to write your message:

                                a.. Use your own words when calling for peace and remember to be respectful.
                                b.. The fate of millions of Ukrainians depends on the actions UN countries like South Africa take now. stand up to Putin, and vote for peace and national sovereignty.
                                c.. The UN was founded so the law of the strongest wouldn’t prevail. This is South Africa's chance to help make sure these principles are upheld.
                                d.. The relevant hashtags, the Twitter handles and a “Stand with Ukraine” image are already in. Simply click and add your message.
                                This could be our last opportunity to stop this war -- but time is running out, and we need to inspire South Africa to get on the right side of history.                                 This senseless invasion is not just an attack on a government, it is an attack on a people’s freedom and right to self-determination. Already, millions have signed our open letter for peace, hundreds of thousands have mobilised demanding an immediate end to the invasion, marching the streets from London to Berlin to Moscow. Let’s keep piling up on the pressure, and show up for Ukrainians in their hour of need.
