Dear Vladimir,
Today is World Refill Day — a global public awareness campaign to help accelerate the transition away from single-use plastic and towards reuse systems. To celebrate, we'd like to share with you the latest videos in our video series, Solving Plastic!
Our third video takes place in Oregon, where nine small breweries have teamed up to collect their bottles back from customers for refill and reuse. Watch as Double Mountain Brewery explains the ingenious system that could eliminate the need for single-use bottles.
The fourth feature in the series takes us to Alameda, California, where a Meals on Wheels program serving 25,000 meals a week saved $32,000 in just the first year after switching to reusable containers. What if every food service program and restaurant adopted the same practice?
These solutions may be ideas you’ve heard of before, but we need to continue amplifying them until they’re the norm. Share your favorite solutions on social media today with the hashtag #WorldRefillDay and stay tuned as we share more inspiring stories of the innovators working to solve plastic pollution!
Happy World Refill Day,
Sage
