                  Because of supporters like you, animals across the globe are receiving the lifesaving care they need.
                 
                    
                        HSI and our partners have been very busy, caring for and saving animals big and small. Here are some of the stories animal lovers like you made possible.




                        In India, temperatures have skyrocketed to 120 degrees Fahrenheit—dangerous heat for both humans and animals. We’re working in communities in three cities to ensure dogs have access to water, shade and appropriate care.




                        In China, severe COVID lockdowns created challenging situations for pet owners. Together with our partner VShine, we’ve provided urgent assistance in Dalian and other cities, helping animals in need of veterinary care, caring for animals whose owners were in quarantine and more.

                        Earlier this month, HSI assisted VShine and local authorities in rescuing 126 dogs from an illegal slaughterhouse in Northern China. Many pet collars were found on the slaughterhouse floor and were worn by the rescued dogs, indicating that pet dogs had been killed here. They were emaciated and frightened, but were very social and eager for human affection. They are safe and receiving medical attention and all the love they deserve.
