                        In just the last two weeks, the Supreme Court has 
eliminated nationwide protection of abortion rights, expanded the right to 
carry firearms in public, destroyed the separation of Church and State in 
public education and gutted significantly the Biden administration’s power 
to combat climate change.

                        It can get worse.



                        If there is one thing that has been exposed over the 
last month, it’s that our Supreme Court is broken. To call it a crisis of 
legitimacy is almost an understatement.

                        The need is urgent. The problem is real. Congress 
must act to fix it and it won’t be easy to get it done. That’s why it’s 
absolutely critical we begin building real support right now.

                        The Court also announced this week that in the next 
term it will take up a big election law case involving the once-fringe 
“independent state legislature doctrine.” They will decide if state 
legislators can override state courts when it comes to voting and elections.

                        In other words, the Court plans to decide whether or 
not Republican state legislatures can overturn election results they don’t 
like. You know, like the 2024 presidential election.

                        This concept is very popular among Republicans and 
was the theory behind most of Donald Trump’s illegal efforts to overturn the 
2020 election. And in fact, four justices, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and 
Thomas, have each singled they might be open to it.

                        It’s time to reform the U.S. Supreme Court, before 
it’s too late. Congress must consider Court reforms aimed at restoring the 
American people’s trust and confidence in the Supreme Court. Sign on now.
