Rainforest guardians are going the extra mile – thanks to your
generosity
            Dear friends of the rainforests,

Usually, we turn to you asking for your signature – this
newsletter is different.

The petitions we launch in cooperation with our partner
organizations in the global South are just one small facet of our work.

We not only amplify the voices of our activist partners, we
support them in their work on the ground – mapping forest territories to
secure the land rights of Indigenous communities, defending gorilla habitat
in the Congo Basin and protecting the Paya Nie wetlands in Indonesia.

Our partners have also gone to court to return a vast area of
Amazon rainforest to the stewardship of its Indigenous inhabitants, and
their political work has succeeded in stopping the advance of loggers and
rapacious plantation companies.

                  DONATE NOW

The challenges we face are huge, and our partners on the
ground – the courageous defenders of the rainforests – need your support.
Our list of projects is long and we have no time to lose.

Rainforest Rescue relies entirely on donations from individuals
like you to enable this vital work.

            Thank you for your generosity.

As always, thanks for being involved,

                  John Hayduska

              Our voices heard
Our petition delivered a clear message, and it was heard by the
UN: In a one-on-one meeting, the Executive Secretary of the Convention on
Biological Diversity, Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, had an open ear for our
arguments and pledged to highlight the dangers of narrowly focusing on
protected areas alone in the COP 15 negotiations.
