dogs from 100+ countries.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recently
announced measures prohibiting the entry of dogs from over 100 countries in
order to prevent the spread of rabies. While preventing the spread of rabies
is critically important, this policy is unnecessary because alternative
measures could be adopted, which would allow for the rescue of dogs in truly
desperate situations around the world without compromising public safety.
Across the world, countless dogs suffer from some of
the worst cases of cruelty and neglect, and until now, Canada has been a
hope for these dogs for a second chance at a life in a loving family.
Help us ensure that dogs in need will still be able
to get a second chance by asking the CFIA to continue to allow rescued dogs
in Canada!
Act Now
From injured street dogs to dogs caught in the dog
meat trade, HSI and other animal rescue organizations have been helping them
by finding forever homes in Canada without ever compromising public safety.
Soon, dogs will no longer be welcomed, even in exceptional and desperate
situations such as a natural disaster or during an armed conflict.
We need your voice to help prevent this from
happening so we can continue the lifesaving work we do for animals with you
by our side. Please, take action for dogs today and send a letter to the
Canadian Inspection Food Agency urging them to amend their measure
prohibiting the entry of dogs in Canada from more than 100 countries.
Thank you for speaking up for animals when they need
you most.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Aldworth
