                 EU develops strategic reserves for chemical, biological and 
radionuclear emergencies

                        To improve the EU's preparedness and response to 
public health risks such as chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear 
(CBRN) threats, the Commission is building up strategic reserves for 
response capacities through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

against Russia in view of the military aggression against Ukraine

                        The agreed package includes a number of measures to 
increase pressure on the Russian government and economy and to limit the 
Kremlin's resources for aggression.

                 "Stand Up For Ukraine": €9.1 billion pledged to support 
internally displaced people in Ukraine and refugees

                        The campaign has raised €9.1 billion for people 
fleeing the Russian invasion and staying in Ukraine or heading to other 
countries, with €1 billion of this coming from the European Commission. The 
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development announced an additional 
loan of €1 billion to cover the needs of people displaced by the invasion.

                 EP: Resolution on human rights violations in Russia, North

                        Parliament condemns the Russian regime's continued 
internal repression, which has worsened in the wake of the Russian invasion 
of Ukraine. It demands that the Russian authorities stop harassing, 
intimidating and attacking anti-war protesters, independent civil society 
organisations and human rights defenders.

                        The number of hungry people in the Sahel and West 
Africa has quadrupled in the last three years, currently reaching 41 
million. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) said the figure rose to 43 
million when the Central African Republic was included in the food 
insecurity estimate.
