Environment Assembly.

Planetary emergencies take centre stage as
world leaders gather virtually
The Earth is careening towards a trio of
environmental catastrophes, politicians, scientists and activists said
during the Fifth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly
(UNEA-5). Their main message: humanity is running out of time to tackle
climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. During the assembly,
delegates from 153 states also approved UNEP’s new Medium-Term Strategy, a
vision for the institution’s role in driving sustainable development.
