                        50+ dogs now safe
                       
                        HSI and other members of the Dog Meat Free Indonesia Coalition rescued over 50 dogs from a terrible fate moments after arriving at an illegal slaughterhouse to be killed for their meat. The dogs are now safe at a temporary shelter, where they are receiving veterinary attention and love and will soon be ready to start the search for forever homes.

                                An HSI-supported local partner group assisted law enforcement officials in shutting down two illegal dog slaughterhouses in China, rescuing more than 50 dogs from the cruel dog meat industry.
                                 
                                 
                             
                                 
                                Watch animals released back into the wild!
                                 
                                 

                                HSI/Latin America and our local partner group rehabilitated injured animals who were rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. Watch as 14 of those animals are released back into the wild.
                                 
                                 
                             

                                 
                                Providing disaster relief after flash floods
                                 
                                 

                                In October and November, HSI/India deployed a team to provide emergency relief to thousands of stranded animals in Kerala after heavy rainfall resulted in landslides and devastating flash floods.
                                 
                                 
                             
                                 
                                Big steps toward fur-free
                                 
                                 

                                France banned fur farming of wild species, Elle magazine announced a global end to animal fur in its pages and online and British Columbia banned mink fur farming.
