Dr. Hans Kluge, the World Health
Organization's regional director for Europe, has voiced alarm over a record
surge of coronavirus cases on the continent and is urging leaders to ramp up
efforts to contain the virus. WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom
Ghebreyesus and Emergency Programs Executive Director Dr. Mike Ryan report
that health workers account for 1 in 7 coronavirus cases, and have called on

own
Officials from the US say they are prepared
to impose sanctions on any country violating an arms embargo against Iran,
despite a lack of support from other members of the United Nations Security
Council and signatories of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Iran has called on
the International Court of Justice to overturn US sanctions, which it says
are in violation of the 1955 Treaty of Amity between the two countries.Full
