            Some veterinarians are mutilating family pets. They must lose 
their licenses, now!

                 Slicing up and chopping off parts of your still-living pet 
animal is completely legal in most of the United States. These 
excruciatingly painful and medically unnecessary procedures include 
operations known as "tail docking," "ear cropping," and "declawing" — names 
that deceptively hide the true nature of their horrors. Tail docking 
involves surgically chopping off a dog's tail, usually without any 
anesthesia. Ear cropping refers to the practice of cutting a poor pup's ears 
into separate pieces, and then reassembling and taping them to a hard 
surface. After a few weeks, the ears "cure" to form the desired shape: perky 
triangular ears that stand upright.

                  Meanwhile, declawing is not a simple exercise in trimming 
a cat's nails — it's intended to stop a feline's nails from ever growing 
back. And the only way to do that is by sawing off the cat's first knuckle 
on each toe. You might think that veterinarians, who have sworn to care for 
vulnerable animals, would never participate in such medieval tortures, but 
unfortunately that's not the case. Every year, countless licensed vets 
actually agree to perform these surgeries on helpless pets. And any person 
who would promote this kind of cruelty should not be allowed to practice 
veterinary medicine. Sign the petition to demand that every U.S. state 
classifies these heinous surgeries as animal abuse and strips the licenses 
of any veterinarians involved!
