But Facebook is refusing to take action. Can you chip in $1 to call out executives with ads on their own platform and force them to protect pangolins? Donating just takes a moment -- use Paypal or your card. Donate $1 now The adorable pangolin has been around for 80 million years -- it's survived everything you can imagine. But now poachers are pushing it toward extinction. And Facebook is helping! Investigators just discovered that a simple multi-language search on Facebook turns up listing after listing for pangolin parts. It's against Facebook's rules but it isn't doing anything about it. So let's make this a massive headache until they do. We already have a petition with over 216,000 signers -- if enough of us chip in $1 we can completely blanket Facebook with ads, even targeting execs and employees, until they can't ignore it anymore. Can you help? Donating just takes a moment -- use Paypal or your card. Yes, I'll donate $1 to help protect pangolins Pangolins aren't as well known as elephants or rhinos, but they're actually more trafficked than either of them -- up to 2.7 million pangolins a year are murdered for their meat and scales, which are used in some traditional medicine. It's not only tragic, it's dangerous -- pangolins may be connected to the Covid-19 outbreak, and scientists say they likely host other coronaviruses that could make the leap to humans. So an ancient, highly threatened species with links to coronaviruses is being openly sold by traffickers on Facebook. The platform's community standards already ban this -- but apparently we're going to need to hold their feet to the fire for them to actually enforce it. And the best way will be to make sure they can't miss our campaign. Every US$1 means we can show it to almost 100 people -- can you chip in $1 to make Facebook take notice? Donating just takes a moment -- use Paypal or your card. Yes, I'll donate $1 to help protect pangolins Facebook is supposed to be about connecting people, and so many of us use it to catch up with friends or family. It's horrifying that others are taking advantage of the same structures to profit from the murder of nearly-extinct animals. We need to tell Facebook there's no place for this on our social media sites. Donating just takes a moment -- use Paypal or your card. Donate $1 now Thanks for all that you do, Danny and the team at SumOfUs -------------------------------------------------------------------- More information: Illegal trade in pangolins keeps growing as criminal networks expand National Geographic. 11 February 2020. Not in the past two years. Not this year. Crops dry up and a massive shortfall is to be expected. It?s because the climate is changing faster than estimated, calling for immediate transformation to sustainable framing. Join our call to the European Parliament! JOIN THE CALL Hi, Soil runs like sand through the farmer's hand. It turns to dust. After severe droughts over the last two years, it?s kicking in again. Germany, Italy, Poland and big parts of South-East Europe already show a massive rainfall deficit. [1] The first to get hit are farmers. Their crops have already dried up and it?s only May. [2] We depend on our farmers a lot. They provide us with fresh food - every single day. But from farm to fork, food production heavily heats up the climate and contributes an estimated one quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions. [3] Yet farmers get a lot of subsidies from the EU, regardless of the way they farm and its impact on the climate. Over the next few weeks, the European Parliament is debating what conditions the EU should link to farming subsidies. And that opens up the opportunity for us to make it very clear: We only want farmers to receive taxpayers' money only if they stop heating up the planet. Our plan is to pressure the MEPs who can influence the debate by sending them direct and public messages, so they can?t hide. But it?s not just our community -- we are joining forces with over 80 organisations and their networks. Because together, we are stronger. Together we can be louder than agribusiness and their lobbyists. Join us. Sign the petition and send a message Imagine your pay slip showing how much of your salary comes from the EU. For a farmer in Germany it?s 40%, in Sweden it?s close to 60%, and it can even go up to 88% in Slovakia. [4] Most of these subsidies are given based on the size of land farmers work on. Nothing else. Unfortunately, far too often farmers stick to bad methods of farming: polluting us with pesticides, killing bees and birds and heating up the atmosphere. We urgently need them to transition to sustainable farming without chemical fertilisers and weedkillers. Sustainable farming emits lower levels of greenhouse gases and is better suited for droughts. [5] The European Parliament is now shaping what the policies that cover farming in Europe (Common Agriculture Policy or CAP for short) will look like for the next seven years. The importance of CAP becomes obvious when you look at the huge amount of money we are talking about. It?s the biggest part of the European budget - 58 billion Euros a year [6] - which is the national income of Bulgaria. [7] Now is the best time to make our voices heard to our MEPs. They have to agree in June on a proposal which will be voted on in autumn. And we want a proposal giving priority to climate and biodiversity, supporting farmers in the EU to better withstand the droughts of the future. That is what we need you to add your voice to. Sign the petition and send a message With our call to action today we join forces with the European alliance calling for Good Food Good Farming. More than 80 organisations from 16 EU member states mobilise today - we, WeMove Europe, contribute close to one million Europeans - together we can make our voices heard! Sign Now Vladimir, Using the chaos surrounding COVID-19 as a cover, the Trump administration has been pushing all manner of frightening policy changes in the U.S. In particular, they've been using this opportunity to increase emissions in our air ? from vehicles, power plants, and particle pollution ? which have been linked to higher rates of death from the coronavirus. Now, they want to take it a step further: the U.S. government wants to allow radioactive waste to be buried right in our backyards. Not only is this hideous on the surface, but it gets even worse when you factor in the current pandemic. Exposure to the extreme levels of radiation emanating from this refuse can literally burn our respiratory tracts and skin. The waste remains radioactive for one million years and ? big surprise ? will most likely be dumped near lower income communities of color. Don't let this disgusting and dangerous policy go through. Join Us & Take our Poll What is it? a.. Over the weekend demonstrators across the United States protested the tragic death of George Floyd and police brutality. In some unfortunate cases, protesters clashed with law enforcement officers while other law enforcement officers were seen marching side by side with the protesters. b.. In some cities, stores, government building and monuments were vandalized and looted, leading to over 4,000 arrests nationwide. This has led to many impromptu city-wide or regional lockdowns as over 45 million Americans were forced to stay at home on Sunday night. c.. While these protests are occurring, many have continued to encourage demonstrators to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines as the COVID-19 pandemic remains prevalent around the country. d.. On Friday, May 29, a CNN news crew was arrested on live TV, drawing attention to some law enforcements? unjust treatment of journalists covering the protests. Since, multiple reports of journalists facing tear gas, rubber bullets and pepper spray have surfaced. Why is it important? a.. Freedom of assembly and the right to protest are both protected for all citizens by the Constitution and are vital tool of democracy. When a society does not see eye to eye with its officials, non-violent civic protest is an effective instrument to bring these issues to the forefront of the conversation. b.. Police brutality is a human rights violation and should be condemned whenever it occurs. The death of George Floyd highlights this issue but it must be addressed in the same universal lens with which we regard police brutality around the world. c.. Many political and thought leaders have spoken out against violent protest. President Obama reminded Americans to ?not excuse violence, or rationalize it, or participate in it?. d.. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said, "I think one of the most important things that a leader can do right now, and I went through this in 2015 during the riots in Baltimore. One of my primary focuses was to try to lower the temperature," e.. Throughout history, non-violent protest has been proven to affect societal-wide sustainable change. Looking back at the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, amongst others has demonstrated the effectiveness and universality of encouraging peaceful change. Thirty-one years later, still little is known about the actual events which occurred as the CCP continues to make efforts to hide its past human rights violations from its own citizens and the rest of the world. Today, the Chinese government is faced with similar pro-democracy protests ? this time in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has traditionally existed as a Special Administrative Region and thus enjoys its own autonomy defined by the principle of ?one country, two systems?. For the past year, pro-democracy protests have been violently repressed by security forces loyal to Beijing. In May 2020, the CCP introduced new legislation aimed at curbing Hong Kong?s territorial independence and its citizens? human freedoms. Today, protesters in Hong Kong stand in solidarity with protesters in the United States. Like the protesters at Tiananmen Square, Hong Kongers still see the United States as beacon of hope and a bastion of democracy and need our continued support. The vast majority of Americans who marched in the protests have done so peacefully ? while only a small minority have resorted to violence. Today?s protest movements in both Hong Kong and the US underscore how peaceful, nonviolent protests can achieve solidarity and unity in purpose and drive societal change for the better. While together we???ve accomplished much, the events of late are incredibly painful reminders of how much more needs to be done to overcome deep systemic racism in our society. We at Care2 unequivocally condemn the rampant racism, white supremacy and police brutality that is commonplace in the United States and around the world. We have been and will continue to demand accountability for the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Sandra Bland, and too many more. As protests against racism and police brutality have formed across the United States, I have been sickened by the many videos showing unnecessarily violent police action targeting people of color, peaceful protestors and journalists. These are not isolated incidents nor the result of individual failings; police brutality is widespread and reflective of deep, systemic failings in our law enforcement culture and procedures. I hold a great deal of privilege, in part because I am a white man. As such, I cannot speak for the countless Black people who are angry, scared, and in pain. But what I can do, and I believe we all must do, is stand together for what???s right, and amplify the many voices of those doing the difficult work of tackling this system of oppression head-on. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr.: ???Riots are the language of the unheard???, and it???s time that we all listened, educated ourselves and took action in support of anti-racist movements everywhere. It is not enough to not be racist. To affect the change we want to see in the world, we must take action against racism and police brutality. We must stand in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter. We can and must do more. To that end, we have gathered together a small selection of resources, including further ways to take action, on our platform and beyond. We encourage all members to use Care2 Petitions to advocate for anti-racist causes in your own community. Over the 5 months of 2020, 63 new episodes were recorded in relation to more than 170 eco-activists, groups and NGOs in 20 regions of Russia at 32 environmental struggles. RSEU has been monitoring persecution of environmentalists since 2012 and demands solving environmental problems and protecting eco-activists. >From January to May 2020 at least 10 environmental activists were subjected to attacks, property damage and threats (7 persons for January-May 2019). It is known that 4 new criminal cases were opened (5 cases in January-May 2019). In relation to 98 activists administrative offense reports were drawn up (110 in January-May 2019), including 41 stay-home regime violation reports. ?The attacks on environmental defenders are systemic: unsolved environmental problems lead to conflicts, and conflicts are accompanied by the persecution of eco-activists. The global environmental crisis leads to an increase of human rights violations and attacks on environmentalists. Russia is no exception. Only a systemic change in the relationship between man and nature will solve these problems?, - says Vitaly Servetnik, RSEU co-chair. RSEU demands to stop pressure on environmental defenders, to investigate all cases of attacks to and harassment of eco-activists. A necessary measure to protect them is the proper investigation of environmental violations, the resistance of which involves cases of prosecution. To prevent conflicts, free access to information and broad public participation on environmentally significant issues should be ensured. Message-ID: <19FD789483134AAB92A44DD389862159@evol.sp.ru> Factory farming is killing the planet, our health, and our commitment to humane animal treatment. Ban it now! Sign Now The footage captured by activists from inside factory farms is horrifying. Chickens with their beaks chopped off to reduce pecking, gagging to death on their own blood. Cows bellowing out to be reunited with their young offspring ? but they never will be. This is just a normal day at any of the 25,000 factory farms currently operating in the U.S. Yet remarkably, even as much as these poor animals are suffering, they're not the only ones. Factory farming exists to put bottomless loads of cash in the pockets of just a few corporate millionaires. In the meanwhile, it's a form of torture for the animals and employees there alike ? all while making consumers and the planet sick. COVID-19 outbreaks are racing through meat plants, where staff were already struggling with PTSD and depression. Families at the dinner table have been ingesting animals pumped full of antibiotics and unnatural growth hormones. Meanwhile, our climate is straining under the huge impact of factory farms' greenhouse gas emissions. Luckily, U.S. Senators Corey Booker and Elizabeth Warren have teamed up to push legislation that would finally ban large-scale factory farming across the country over the next 20 years. This would be a huge win for all of us. The facts are clear: factory farming is a horrific practice that's making us sick ? animals, workers, consumers, and Mother Earth all included. It needs to end, now. Urge the U.S. Congress to pass this crucial legislation to ban factory farming! Thank you for all that you do, Miranda B. The Care2 Petitions Team P.S. Sign the petition to demand that Spain end the "sport" of bullfighting now! Sign Now Vladimir, It's hard to believe that Spain continues to support the legal torture and murder of animals for entertainment, but it does. Not only is bullfighting an unambiguous form of animal cruelty, it's also dangerous for bullfighters. This was clearly evidenced during a recent bullfight in the Spanish city of Madrid, where a matador was gored and barely managed to escape death. The matador quickly recovered, which seemed like a good thing. That is, until he returned to the ring, where he killed the bull and cut off the dead animal's ears as a trophy. Bullfighting is nothing more than a form of sadism that ends in the death of an innocent animal, and exalts in provoking fear and terror. Spain must end this grotesque tradition now. Please sign and share the petition to demand that the government of Spain bans bullfighting! Thank you for all that you do, Miranda B. The Care2 Petitions Team P.S. This time, the NRC could produce a generic environmental impact statement for what it labels small-scale ?advanced? nuclear reactors (ANRs). There are several reasons why this is a terrible idea. Among other things, the NRC has no experience regulating so-called ?advanced? nuclear reactors. There are also dozens of potential types of such reactors, which makes creating a generic environmental impact statement about them nothing less than fiction. In addition, there?s no reason to think these reactors are less dangerous or more environmentally friendly than current ones. The list goes on and on. The NRC is accepting comments about this proposal right now. It?s time to remind them that the NRC?s mission is to protect the health and safety of the American people, not advance the interests of the nuclear industry. Tell the NRC: No generic review for untested nuclear reactors. The comments you?ll send detail a host of issues for why producing a generic review for ANRs is a bad idea. Among them is the fact that ?advanced? reactors would generate many different kinds of radioactive waste that would be even more difficult to manage than those produced by the current light-water reactors. Non-light water reactors have also been known to have significant safety risks for decades. And if you care about climate change, ANRs are no match for wind, solar, and energy efficiency. Another important reason ties deeply with the recent protests we?ve seen against police violence and institutionalized racism: Small-scale ANRs will have significant environmental justice impacts. At every stage of the nuclear fuel cycle, polluting facilities and activities have been located disproportionately on indigenous peoples? lands and in African American, Latinx, and other communities of color. There is no reason to expect that to change with ANRs. The NRC should be looking out for the health and safety of all Americans, not making it easier for the nuclear industry to get rich while polluting our environment. Tell the NRC: No generic review for untested nuclear reactors. Expect to hear more from us this summer about this and other important issues related to nuclear energy. In the meantime, stay healthy and safe. This email is from Chris Percy, a staff member at our sister organisation in the United States, MoveOn. Just like WeMove Europe, they are a movement of people working towards a world where everyone has a place of honor and dignity. Stand in global solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter! Join the fight to end police brutality, liberate Black people and end white supremacy. No one is free until we are all free. Add your signature My name is Chris Percy, and I?m the training director at MoveOn. We support the same work in the U.S. that you do in Europe: doing whatever we can to mobilize for a better society. Normally, I write emails to other MoveOn members the way people at WeMove Europe write emails to you. But today, I?m reaching out beyond our country, to speak to you and others around the world about an issue that has gone beyond our borders. Today I am writing to you about #BlackLivesMatter. I am a 34-year-old Black man from the West Side of Chicago witnessing history in the making. A picture of me - Chris Percy during Protecting Working Families Tour by MoveOn.org This point in our world?s journey is pivotal and consequential - not just here in the U.S., but everywhere. Something about this moment feels different. Feels ripe. At no point in my life?s journey have I seen the amount of collective solidarity and resistance to the system of white supremacy and racial hate than I have seen in the last two weeks, sparked by the killing of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. And let?s be clear, this moment is the result of over 400 hundred years of oppression, not just of George and Breonna, and not just of Black people in the United States, but of Black and Indigenous peoples throughout the world. So today, I have a request. Solidarity is like hope and faith, it shows that we are not few but that we are many; that we are not alone but together. That?s why members of WeMove Europe and other movements around the world are getting behind a global statement of solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter. We will publish it here in the U.S. on June 19th, also known as Juneteenth, a day that is sacred to Black people in the United States as the effective end of slavery. Will you add your name to the global statement of solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter, and show the world how huge this movement has become? Sign to stand in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter The work I do every day aims to dismantle systems of oppression and inequality. I work to ensure that everyone, regardless of who they are or what they look like, has a chance to live freely and prosper, unhindered by the limitations born from hate or greed. The fight for the preservation and liberation of Black lives is a fight that we can all coalesce around. So let?s do that. Let?s choose to affirm Black life globally in our work and personal lives. The fight for Black liberation intersects with all other forms of liberation. If we aspire to unite globally to fight for the Black diaspora, First Nations peoples, women, the LGBTQ community, the poor, the immigrant, and the disabled, we must continue our work and create a sustainable anti-racist plan to realize our aspirations of a more equitable world. By showing up for each other, we can prove that #BlackLivesMatter is an unstoppable force - here in the U.S., and all around the world. So, Vladimir, will you sign a global statement of solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter? I know we can not only witness history, but together, we can make history! Thanks for all you do! Island nations most affected by climate change could swing the vote -- and your message today would show the world is standing behind them. Send a message Canada is dumping billions of public money into fossil fuel subsidies every year, propping up an industry that is wreaking havoc on our climate. And this despite G20 commitments to end these subsidies in the next five years. Climate chaos disproportionately affects island nations and famous climate activist, Greta Thunberg, has raised the call for these island nations to use their power, at the UN Security Council vote, to force Canada to do better on climate action. The vote is this Wednesday and countries are in the final moments of making a decision. Your email today could help embolden these small nations to stand up to Canada?s dismal climate record and force it to stop propping up the destructive fossil fuel industry. Send your message today to stop Canada?s inaction on climate chaos In the last two weeks, two very damning reports have come out showing that Trudeau is still dumping billions into the oil industry despite its G20 commitment to end fossil fuel subsidies by 2025. And this in the same year that has seen climate disasters like the Australian bush fires and the back-to-back extreme cyclones in India. Climate chaos will affect island nations the most -- and they have a rare opportunity to leverage their power in the UN Security Council vote to show Canada, and the world, that only drastic climate action will get their votes. By emailing the representatives today, you will show them that the world is behind them in standing up to large global powers like Canada who are driving climate chaos with their massive public support of the fossil fuel industry. Send a message of support to Island Nations today. All across the world, white people in North and Western countries are waking up to the harsh lived realities of BIPOC people living under white supremacy. And this racism shows up in climate work too, when rich, predominantly white nations like Canada prop up Big Oil companies pushing forward climate chaos -- something that predominantly affects nations of Black, Brown and Indigenous peoples. At SumOfUs we are working to centre the voices of those who are most impacted by climate chaos and support their struggle by challenging rich, white global powers. Message-ID: Avaaz.org - The World in Action Dear Friends, Thank you so much for signing the George Floyd open letter. NOW WE NEED YOU TO ACT URGENTLY! On Wednesday at 3 pm CET, the UN will hold an unprecedented debate on systemic racism and police violence. They could order the set up of an independent commission of inquiry investigating police brutality in the US. But, we need to pressure our governments to demand US accountability at this meeting! Insiders say the Trump Administration is exerting massive pressure on countries to take the spotlight off the US. Australia and European countries have capitulated to a watered down resolution, and other countries are also coming under intense pressure. This is where we come in! If enough of us contact our foreign ministries / country representatives to the UN in the next 18 hours, we can get these countries to reverse course and to demand US accountability! Here?s how we do it: a.. If you live outside the US, please contact your Foreign Ministry or your country?s UN Mission in Geneva and let them know that you support the call made by families of victims of police killings in the United States, 54 African countries, and over 660 groups from 66 countries to mandate an independent Commission of Inquiry. b.. If you live in the United States, please contact foreign embassies in Washington D.C. that are members of the UNHRC (see list here) especially U.S. allies and urge them to support international accountability for police killings in the U.S George Floyd?s brutal murder has sparked an unstoppable global movement demanding concrete and bold actions to end racist policing practices and impunity for police violence. Our community has an unparalleled opportunity to bring meaningful change here. Let?s rise to the occasion! In solidarity, The Avaaz team ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear friends, These are the last words of George Floyd, a 46-year-old man who died as a US police officer pinned him down, kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes: "It's my face man I didn't do nothing serious man please please please I can't breathe please man please somebody please man I can't breathe I can't breathe please (inaudible) man can't breathe, my face just get up I can't breathe lease, a knee on my neck I can't breathe shit I will I can't move mama mama I can't my knee my neck I'm through I'm through I'm claustrophobic my stomach hurt my neck hurts everything hurts some water or something please please I can't breathe officer don't kill me they're gonna kill me, man come on man I cannot breathe I cannot breathe they're gonna kill me they're gonna kill me I can't breathe I can't breathe please sir please please please I can't breathe" Then his eyes shut and the pleas stop. George Floyd was pronounced dead shortly after. Right now, we have a choice. This can just be one more tragic death at the hands of US police -- or the moment for change. We are a movement of more than 60 million people -- when we all speak up, we are deafening. So let's raise our voices to join everyone calling for an end to these racist killings, and push those in power to do the same. Sign this open letter with one click, and when it's massive, Avaaz will publish it in major US newspapers and websites around the world. Let it be an anthem to end the killing and honour all those we've already lost. Add your name As people of the world, we grieve the senseless loss of another life at the hands of US police. We stand in community with everyone who is hurting. These brutal killings must end. Each is a wound to the heart of our humanity and a shameful, indelible mark on that great flag of the United States of America. Racism thrives in the company of silence -- so we will not stay quiet. Racism is a problem that belongs to us all. It is our fight. But we cannot allow that fight to become hatred, for then we are no wiser than those whose hearts we seek to change. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." It is in this spirit that we call on all those in power to act NOW, and hold President Trump and US state and local governments accountable to: a.. Ensure all officers involved in the killing of George Floyd face legal due process, b.. Expel and prosecute officers for even one instance of excessive force or the failure to intervene when excessive force is used, c.. Ensure every police killing is independently and transparently investigated. We pledge to do our part, meeting the fear, anger, and ignorance of racism with all the hope, love, and strength of our humanity. Rest in Power, George Floyd. It will not be in vain. The EPA must take emergency action to save Puerto Rico's coral reefs, for the sake of human and marine life! Sign Now Vladimir, The COVID-19 pandemic is not the first time that the U.S. government has shown an utter lack of planning, regard for science, or compassion for its citizens. In 2017, Hurricane Maria ravaged the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, leaving thousands of U.S. citizens dead and many more without access to clean water, electricity, or safe housing. Disaster relief was slow and inadequate, headed by a president who thought it was okay to throw a few rolls of paper towels into crowds of desperate people and call it a day. But now, almost three years later, with extreme weather events a certainty due to climate change, Puerto Rico is far from in the clear. A crucial step in preventing further devastation in Puerto Rico is to preserve and protect its coral reefs, which provide vital protections for the shores beyond them. Not to mention these reefs are some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world, and keep thousands of species of marine creatures alive. Failure to take action to protect Puerto Rico's coral reefs now will mean unprecedented damage when inevitable future hurricane disasters occur. Losing these reefs will result in a massive loss of animal, plant, and human life, too. Please sign the petition to demand the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency take action to protect these critical coral reefs! Thank you, Lauren W. The Care2 Petitions Team P.S. It is widely accepted that returning to normal is not viable in view of the unmatched social, economic and environmental implications of the COVID19 pandemic. Normal got us here in the first place. But the decisions taken in the coming months will lock in development pathways for decades to come. Is it time to fundamentally rethink our relationship with nature? Can entering into a social contract for nature help us to build back better? This high-level panel brings together some of the world's most influential political leaders in the environmental field to debate what the post-COVID19 recovery strategy might look like. What needs to happen immediately and in the long term. Engagement will be framed in the context of four key questions. Prominent environmental engineer and Professor of Environmental Health: Patricia Hynes (retired). ? Expert disarmament professional: Ray Acheson with the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. ? Noted activist, writer, and therapist: Caroline Davies with Extinction Rebellion. ? Distinguished researcher-practitioner: Lindsay Koshgarian with the National Priorities Project. ? World BEYOND War Education Director: Phill Gittins. ? World BEYOND War Co-Founder and Executive Director: David Swanson. More instructors are still being added. Time commitment/expectations: How much time you spend and how deeply you engage is up to you. At a minimum, you can expect to spend between 1-2 hours a week if you only review the weekly content (text and videos). We hope, however, you?ll want to engage in the online dialogue with peers and experts. This is where the real richness of the learning occurs, where we have the opportunity to explore new ideas, strategies, and visions for building a more peaceful world. Depending on your level of engagement with the online discussion you can expect to add another 1-3 hours a week. Finally, all participants are encouraged to complete optional assignments (required to earn a certificate). This is an opportunity to deepen and apply the ideas explored each week to practical possibilities. Expect another 2 hours a week if you pursue these options. Accessing the course. Prior to the start date, you will be sent instructions for how to access the course. Earn a certificate. To earn a certificate, participants must also complete optional weekly written assignments. Instructors will return the assignment to the student with detailed feedback. Submissions and feedback can be shared with everyone taking the course or kept private between a student and the instructor, at the student?s choice. Submissions must be completed by the conclusion of the course. The cost of the course is the same for someone completing all, some, or none of the assignments. Questions? Earlier this year, your pressure got Pepsi to change its ways and unveil an industry-leading palm oil sourcing policy. Now you and I are leveraging a shareholder revolution against KFC and Pizza Hut owner Yum! Brands -- the largest fast food company in the world -- for its weak stance on deforestation. We crashed Yum!'s biggest meeting of the year to present a shareholder proposal to get deforestation off the fast food giant's menus. And despite all of Yum's efforts to silence us, we won 35 percent of the vote -- 3 percent more than last year! KFC execs are shook, and it all thanks to generous donations from SumOfUs members -- and without your continued support will won't be able to force KFC and Yum! Brands into action. It's all thanks to your regular donations -- and your continued support will force Yum! Brands and KFC into action. Would you like to make a one-off gift to keep our rainforests safe from Yum! Brands? This is huge. Yum! advised against our proposal and even had its lawyers ask the US Securities and Exchange Commission to scrub it off the meeting agenda. But in the end, Yum! couldn't hide the truth: more and more shareholders want KFC and Pizza Hut to do better to protect our forests. There?s still lots to do to save the habitat of endangered species like orangutans, Sumatran tigers, rhinos and pygmy elephants. If we're going to build on our victory and force Yum! to adopt a cross-commodity policy that protects workers, rainforests and the climate, we need to start right away. It was your regular donations that got us this far -- and your continued support will see us through until KFC and Pizza Hut take long-overdue action. But don?t worry: You can take all three actions with just one click! The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is accepting comments on two proposals to build Consolidated Interim Storage (CIS) facilities in New Mexico and Texas. Building these so-called ?interim? sites would require hauling dangerous, high-level nuclear waste all over the country twice: Once to the ?interim? sites, then once again to the permanent site?if that is ever built. If the permanent site is not built, the ?interim? sites could become de-facto permanent storage sites. Communities in New Mexico and Texas would become the latest sacrifice to the nuclear industry. We can?t allow this dangerous, high-level nuclear waste to be hauled around the country to storage sites that won?t be permanent solutions to our nuclear waste problem. Tell the NRC and your member of Congress to say NO to the CIS facilities in New Mexico and Texas. The transport of irradiated nuclear waste is extremely dangerous and risky. To reduce risk, the waste should be transported only once: from the reactor site (the site of creation) to a morally and scientifically sound system for permanent isolation. Shipping high-level waste poses the threat of creating a national sacrifice zone if an accident were to occur during transport or at a CIS facility. Land, water, and air within 50 miles or more of the accident site could be threatened by dangerous, possibly uninhabitable, levels of contamination. Also, the owners of these ?interim? storage facilities are banking on U.S. taxpayers paying the tab for their schemes?which happens to be illegal under current law. By taking this action, you?ll send comments to the NRC opposing the CIS facilities in New Mexico and Texas. You?ll also send a letter to your member of Congress urging them to take action: a.. Oppose funding for CIS facilities b.. Oppose pending bills that legalize CIS facilities c.. Extend the NRC comment periods until 6 months after the end of the pandemic d.. And hold public hearings in your district about this. Tell the NRC and your member of Congress to say NO to the CIS facilities in New Mexico and Texas. Building the CIS facilities in New Mexico and Texas would mean transporting over 90% of the radioactivity in the whole nuclear power and weapons fuel chain across 44 states and the District of Columbia for 40 years. That is an unacceptable risk to take with the health and lives of the American people. Tell the NRC and your member of Congress to say NO to the CIS facilities in New Mexico and Texas. We?ll keep you posted about new developments on this issue as they happen. In the meantime, we hope you?re staying healthy and safe. Both the US and Europe have a long, shameful history of Black people being killed by the police. But it was the murder of George Floyd, after the murder of Breonna Taylor, after the murder of Tony McDade, in the midst of a pandemic that kills Black and Brown people at twice the rate of white people, that has reflected in stark reality an inequitable system affecting all aspects of our lives. As a white woman and brand new Executive Director for our community, I have been spending the past week doing some hard work: my own reckoning with the ways I have failed to be a co-conspirator with anti-racist movements; an organisational reckoning with a fierce and courageous team to identify and change the racism of our internal practices and policies; and a vow to amplify the work that staff of colour have been doing for years. This is a moment of recommitment to running campaigns with all of us that are core to our mission -- people over profit -- but also those that create a world where communities of colour aren?t under attack, and we can all thrive. Personally, I have been doing a lot of listening. I?ve also been talking with colleagues and friends, learning and asking questions, reading, and re-reading, including the powerful and essential work How to be an Anti-Racist by Ibram X Kendi. I have been giving the resources I can to the organizations doing the long and hard work of system change in the US, such as the collection of essential groups behind the Black Trans Protestors Emergency Fund. A few staff here at SumOfUs have also recommended Reni Eddo-Lodge?s Why I?m No Longer Talking to White People About Race, and Akala?s Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire as really powerful books by Europe-based writers. This is work that will only happen if we do it together. We are a massive, global community that knows we have the power to change the world. And it doesn?t matter where each of us is on our journey with racism and oppression. If you believe that everyone has the right to live, breathe, and walk down the street, this space is for you. Taking action, donating, and supporting this movement today shouldn?t be the end of our action-taking, it should be the start. This will continue far beyond the protests and the newspaper headlines they generate. To help me and our community, I?d love to know about the resources and readings that are bringing you pause or hope or learning during these times. You can email me at emma at sumofus.org so we can continue to learn and grow together. Now, we need to make sure the bonds work and that they?re green, so saving people?s livelihoods doesn?t mean hurting our planet. Can you chip in to keep the campaign going? DONATE NOW Hi, Well, they said we couldn?t do it. When we began our campaign to back coronabonds - a vital tool for EU solidarity to tackle poverty caused by coronavirus - lots of people told us the campaign would never succeed. The idea was just too radical. But they were wrong. Just a few weeks ago, when the European Commission announced the recovery plan for Europe, coronabonds were part of the proposal! [1] The announcement of the bonds is an unprecedented first step. And we got this far because of people power. 320,000 of us signed a petition and thousands messaged MEPs before a critical vote, to tell them to back the bonds. There is still lots of work to do, because even though the Commission?s proposal is ambitious, it is still just that - a proposal. And while we have some key governments on our side (Germany, France, and Italy), we also have some big opponents to tackle. [2] We are looking at least another year of campaigning and are now planning our next steps. If each of us donate just a few euros each month, we can be much more confident to dream big for this campaign, knowing the WeMove community is backing this plan. Can you chip in, so we can challenge European leaders to take the steps we need to make coronavirus recovery the start of a fairer, greener Europe for all of us? I'll chip in! We need to continue the political work with partners -- to make sure that the bonds come with ?green strings?, so there?s no risk they?ll be invested in industries which hurt the planet. Second, we need to make sure the bonds are used wisely to make life better for ordinary Europeans, not big business. We also need to make sure that we are telling everyone we know about this campaign and bringing them with us. We need to convince young people just how important this is. And that means going to them -- on social media. We?ll use social media to spread the word, and bring even more people on board with the campaign -- this means hiring someone who knows these tools and putting aside an advertising budget to make sure our campaign is being seen far and wide. To make the campaign work, we need to be able to plan for the next twelve months. We need to know the WeMove team can commit for the long-term. It?s essential we have the resources to plan ahead. Can you chip in so we can make sure we get the coronabonds we need? Yes, I'll donate! If someone had told us in January of this year that European countries would be coming together over a massive plan of European solidarity, it would have been almost impossible to believe. But this moment in history is a tipping point for humanity, one that we have the chance to make sure tips in favor of people and planet. Proud to be together in this, David, Virginia (Madrid), and the entire WeMove Europe team PS: This is one of WeMove?s biggest-ever campaign success stories. Hundreds of thousands of us played a part. We were even mentioned by an MEP in the European Parliament! But there?s still more we can do, if we have the resources to do it. Become a monthly donor now so we can cover the costs of taking our campaign up a level, and getting the best version of coronabonds possible. Message-ID: <7BB7AA79C97F4F70B8A1AE9AA8C892DB@lewpostnew> "Hunting" techniques like cornering mothers and their babies in their dens, shooting caribou as they swim to safety, and more are back thanks to Trump. Sign Now Under the Trump administration, the National Park Service just made it legal for hunters to use the most brutal and inhumane hunting methods over 20 million acres of Alaskan land, including shooting bear cubs and wolf pups as they sleep with their mothers. Hunters will now be allowed to blind these animals with spotlights as they are cornered in their dens, shoot caribou at their most vulnerable as they are swimming, and use packs of trained dogs to hunt one single, defenseless bear at a time. The thin reasoning behind which the administration is hiding is that these hunting practices will decrease predators, and therefore increase other prey wildlife such as deer. But hundreds of scientists who oppose the rule change say that there is not nearly enough evidence to support this idea. This is an obvious attempt to appease hunters, and will only lead to the needless pain, suffering, and potential depopulation of some of our most precious species. Please sign the petition today demanding that the National Park Service withdraw these rule changes immediately! Thank you, Lauren W. The Care2 Petitions Team P.S. And the beekeepers are exhausted. After months of legal bills, our brave beekeepers don't have the funds they need to continue -- and the added financial strain of the Covid-19 crisis has got their entire organisation on the verge of collapse. Their decisions can set the world on the path to a safe and just recovery from the interwoven crises of racial injustice, COVID, economic upheaval and climate breakdown hitting us all at once. So act now: Call on G20 countries to spend public money on a safe and just recovery for everyone There are trillions of dollars of our money on the table and we want a say in where it goes. We demand better than ?business as usual?. We need jobs and investment in our communities, we need healthcare, we need better housing, greener transport, social care and dignified livelihoods. We demand justice. Plans for a just recovery need to be rooted in racial justice and address the multiple crises and inequities that an extractive economy has created. Communities of colour and those on the frontlines of the climate crisis are also the ones who have been bearing the brunt of the global pandemic. The G20 finance ministers who will be meeting on 18 July hold the pursestrings for a just recovery that can tackle all these crises together. This historic opportunity calls for an equally unprecedented response from them. Let them know. Photo by Diego Rodriguez Garcia | Survival Media Agency This is a moment that will go down in history as either the point when national governments stepped up to the challenge or when they caved in once again to powerful elites and used our public resources to shore up special interests like fossil fuel bailouts and other polluting industries. The benchmark for an acceptable response is whether recovery plans help us fix what?s broken and start us on a new path to a more just and sustainable future for all. The NRC could soon produce a generic environmental impact statement for what it labels small-scale ?advanced? nuclear reactors (ANRs). By fast-tracking the environmental review of ANRs, the NRC is once again putting the interests of the nuclear industry before our health and safety. The NRC?s job is to protect the American people, not carry water for the nuclear industry. But we still have time to flood the NRC with comments opposing this plan. The deadline for comments on this terrible proposal is June 30. Tell the NRC: No easy passes for untested nuclear reactors. The comments you?ll send list a number of reasons why producing a generic review for ANRs is a terrible idea. Among other things, the NRC has no experience fast-tracking so-called ?advanced? nuclear reactors. There have been no non-light-water reactors in operation in the U.S. since the 1980s. Only three were ever built, two of them in the 1960s?before the NRC was even created. In other words, the NRC shouldn?t give an easy environmental pass to reactors it doesn?t have experience regulating. So-called ?advanced? reactors would also generate many different kinds of radioactive waste that would be even more difficult to manage than those produced by the current light-water reactors. Non-light water reactors have also been known to have significant safety risks for decades. And if you care about climate change, ANRs are no match for wind, solar, battery storage, and energy efficiency. The NRC should be looking out for the health and safety of all Americans, not making it easier for the nuclear industry to get rich while polluting our environment. The deadline for comments is June 30. Tell the NRC: No easy passes for untested nuclear reactors. Europe and others can make Israel think twice, and we cannot let this pass without outcry. Demand our leaders act now: Israel is set to annex much of Palestine in 6 days, violating international law and ending the possibility of freedom for the Palestinian state. Europe and others can make Israel think twice, and we cannot let this pass without outcry. Demand our leaders act now: Sign now Dear friends, In 6 days, Israel's Prime Minister is set to expand Israel into much of Palestine. Palestine is recognised by the United Nations. But Israel's government is simply taking it over, in violation of international law. Virtually everyone opposes this, but the question is whether anyone will do anything about it. Europe and others have the power to make Israel think twice, but they need to hear a massive demand for action from citizens first. Let's give it to them! Demand action for Palestine now Israel is leaving bits of land to be somewhat self-governed by Palestinians, while besieging them with walls, colonies and military towers. Israel may advance its annexation in stages to decrease international alarm, but the remainder of Palestine already looks like swiss cheese; an impossible state to live in, function, and govern. Palestinians would effectively be corralled into pockets of land -- like large open-air prisons, under the tight control of Israel. Many call it Apartheid. As Israel's largest trade partner, the EU can make clear that annexation and human rights violations in Palestine will lead to sanctions. This is one of the most illegitimate actions ever taken in the long tragic history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If the world yawns, it will mean a new era of injustice and cruelty. This is what Avaaz is for -- let's say "not on our watch", and raise the alarm with our leaders to act: Demand action for Palestine now Avaaz fought hard for the United Nations to recognize Palestine as the world's 194th state, and we won. Palestine's Ambassador to Europe said then: "Avaaz and its members across the world have played a crucial role in persuading governments to support the Palestinian people's bid for a state and for freedom and peace. They have stood with us throughout and their solidarity and support will be remembered and cherished across Palestine". Let's stand with Palestinians, Israelis, and people everywhere who want to protect rights, freedom, and laws, and not the rule of the strong governing our world. In 2017, the Trump administration erased a policy that restricted the sales of single-use plastic water bottles within national parks. Trump clearly saw another way to make a buck or please his industry friends by allowing the sale of plastic that won't break down for 450 years. Animals often mistake small plastic pieces, such as caps or pieces of bottles, as food, only to later die from choking, poisoning, or digestion blockages. Plastic that is improperly disposed of can release chemicals for centuries, into the soil that we farm or the water that we drink. The United States federal government is tasked with protecting our environment, but clearly this policy reversal does anything but that. I love old houses. But old houses need a lot of work. And the work is never done. And that?s what our country is like. And you may not want to go into that basement, but if you really don?t go into that basement, it?s at your own peril.? [1] They came from Isabel Wilkerson, an American journalist who was talking about how understanding history (in this case slavery and the Great Migration) helps us make sense of the present (racism and police violence). I found myself thinking: What?s in Europe?s basement? Are we going in there? There are different kinds of histories and basements - lots of local ones, national ones, and one big shared European basement. The main rooms within that are arguably the two big wars that started in Europe and our history of colonialism. Whereas some European countries have made efforts to confront the history of the wars, it?s harder to find examples of where our colonial past has been properly reckoned with. One month ago, the basement doors were blown wide open in the US and beyond by the murder of George Floyd. For the first time in a long time, we are forced to confront the ugliest parts of our histories, of our stories, of our national identities. In the US, symbols of historical racism are being removed from public spaces, and the same is happening in Europe - particularly with regard to our colonial history. Take Belgium for example: when I came here in 2001, I couldn?t quite figure out how King Leopold II, the man who organised an industry of murder and maiming of literally millions of Congolese people, was still being honoured in statues all over the country. As a direct response to the confrontation we now face with our histories, the place of these statues is being questioned, in Belgium, Italy, the UK and beyond. By venturing into the basement and confronting what exists there, we are healing our societies and being more honest with ourselves. This statue of Leopold II in Antwerp was removed a couple of weeks ago after it was vandalised and set on fire. Other statues of Leopold II across Belgium are also being challenged and vandalised. A lot of bravery is needed to step into that basement in the name of people, rights and healing. It?s also needed in the name of the planet. For many, it is really uncomfortable to confront how we?ve messed up our planet. It's hard to acknowledge the fact that not so long ago we adopted a system that celebrates consumption and economic growth at the cost of ever more emissions, climate change and ever greater chances of planetary collapse. Colonialism underpins our capitalist economic model - so much of our economic system and wealth was built and financed through colonial brutality. Despite these systems ravaging our planet for decades, they have been all but dismantled in a period of weeks due to the COVID-19 crisis. That is why the green recovery is so key, to right those wrongs, and fix this old house, and come to terms with some of the rooms in the basement. At the EU level, some politicians are asking brave questions that challenge our economic model. Our Prime Ministers are in the middle of agreeing a plan about how we recover economically from COVID-19. Their Green and Just Recovery Plan for Europe is the biggest chance in generations to build a whole new economy - one that benefits people by supporting small business and job creation, accessible public transport, accessible energy-efficient homes and cuts emissions drastically. Last week we targeted our Prime Ministers? meeting on Zoom, while they were deciding how to finance the recovery plan. But the so-called ?frugals? - Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark - spoke out against solidarity at the meeting. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of Luxembourg, posted a tweet about EU Prime Ministers? recent Zoom meeting on how to finance the recovery plan We are going to need to apply some friendly pressure on the frugals in the months to come. If they continue to oppose solidarity, then those hit hardest by the COVID crisis - the health workers, the ones who lost their jobs, those at risk of losing their job - will not have the means to recover from the most enormous economic shock Europe has seen in decades. We won?t stand for Austerity 2.0 and we must make this clear just before the next EU Summit on July 17, to make sure all of our European governments agree to a big recovery fund. Europe and the world need to open our basement doors. Owning up to the failures of the past is our best chance of healing and of survival in future. Isabel Wilkerson also said ?Whatever you are ignoring is not going to go away. Whatever you?re ignoring will be there to be reckoned with until you reckon with it. And I think that that?s what we?re called upon to do where we are right now.? [2] Wise words. Let?s follow them. Hi, On the 18th of July, those who control the budgets of the world?s 20 wealthiest countries will meet to discuss how they will spend trillions in public money on economic recovery and stimulus packages following the worldwide impact of COVID-19. Join our webinar on Tuesday, 30 June to find out more about what we should expect from the G20 and how we can unleash a global wave of mobilizations to ensure a more just recovery & join forces with other mobilizations, especially the ongoing protests against police violence and systemic racism. RSVP now We see the deep roots of the problems that connect us, and the values that unite us. World leaders have failed us, on climate action, on fighting the pandemic, as well as on defending black lives. It?s time we come together as never before to take action. As we recover from COVID-19 and enter the decade for people and the planet, we must take this moment to demand bold climate action and end the era of fossil fuels. It?s time to invest in public health systems which would have protected us from the dire impacts of the pandemic, to build green jobs and social protection of the future, and to dismantle white supremacist structures that lay violence on Black people?s, Indigenous people?s and people of color?s lives. 2020 and 2021 is when competing visions for the future of our planet will come to a head, and our job is to step boldly into this fight. We can?t let them decide on our future and return to business as usual. We can?t let corporate lobbyists dictate the direction behind closed doors. This is about our money, our jobs, our future ? our lives. We demand justice. It starts now. The decisions the G20 will make can set the world on the path to a safe and just recovery from the interwoven crises of racial injustice, COVID, economic upheaval and climate breakdown hitting us all at once. We think you might be interested in it. Hi, While forest guards are in lockdown, forest thieves are not. Europe?s last old-growth forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. The wood mafia in Romania continues logging while the government does little to stop them. During the lockdown, wood transport was bigger than in the same period last year. And this in spite of the fact that the European Commission launched an infringement procedure against Romania on this very issue. [*] More than 120,000 people signed the petition to immediately stop the illegal logging. Our partners are meeting the Romanian Minister of Environment, Water and Forests tomorrow to deliver the petition and demand instant action. The more people behind this, the more Romania's government will realise that this is an issue that people care about. Will you share the petition with your friends to put as much pressure as possible? It?s the last chance! Share now! Thank you! David, Marta (Warsaw), Olga (Bologna), J?rg (L?beck) and the entire WeMove Europe team [*] https://www.clientearth.org/press/eu-announces-legal-action-against-romania-for-illegal-logging-of-europes-last-natural-forests/ ************************************************************ Below our email from last year, explaining the situation: ************************************************************ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Romanian government allows the devastation of Europe?s largest untouched forests in national parks and ?Natura 2000? areas - to sell the wood to timber corporations. But now the eyes of Europe are on Romania, as it holds the EU presidency. Let?s use this moment and say the logging must stop now! Sign the petition Hi, Old-growth forests are in danger! Vast areas are being logged right now in Romania - against EU law - all this while its government holds the EU presidency. We must act now if we don?t want to lose Europe?s green lungs. Until the end of June, the presidency of the EU is being held by Romania. In the coming weeks, the eyes of Europe will be still on the Romanian government. We have a chance to demand from the Romanian PM to immediately stop the devastation! Logging in Romania is out of control ? wonderful, untouched forests in national parks, Natura 2000 sites, buffer zones of UNESCO World Heritage sites are all being logged and lost, both legally and illegally, often with the full permission and support of the Romanian government. [1] But we can stop it. During the EU presidency, the Romanian government wants to make the best possible impression on the European and international public. If we publicise this tragedy all over Europe, the Romanian Prime Minister will have to listen. We will deliver the petition to the Romanian authorities and, in order to make more noise, also to the European Commission and the European Parliament. The pressure must come from different countries to show the Romanian Prime Minister that forests belong to everyone. By signing this petition, you will contribute to persuading the Romanian authorities to stop the logging. Sign the petition! The forests under threat grow in the Carpathian Mountains, Europe?s third longest mountain range. Mixed mountain forests of beech and spruce, and at higher altitudes, coniferous mountain forests with black pines and Alpine meadows - they are home to the EU?s largest and healthiest populations of brown bears, wolves, lynx, chamois, and red deer. The threat comes mainly from Romania?s state-funded forestry company, Romsilva, which prioritises logging over conservation and is given full consent by authorities in Bucharest. Biofuels and timber industry are driving the logging. International companies benefit from its scale. [2] We have shown numerous times that we can mobilise to protect natural treasures all over Europe and that saving forests is our priority. We fought for the Kresna gorge in Bulgaria and we massively supported the successful action to save the Bia?owie?a forest in Poland. [3] So let?s do it again and save the green lungs of Europe. Sign now! Thank you! Marta (Warsaw), Olga (Bologna), J?rg (L?beck) and the entire WeMove Europe team PS: Our generation has the responsibility to save nature for future generations. Romanian forests are carbon reserves, gene banks, scientific laboratories, oxygen factories and home for numerous threatened species, some found nowhere else on earth. Sign and save the forests! Message-ID: <41F9DB519C4F434287789E879F782A27@evol.sp.ru> 160 companies including Coke, Starbucks, and Unilever have announced they're suspending all Facebook ads until the tech giant fixes its disastrous disinformation and hate speech policies! This is a total game-changer -- we need to get other companies on board while momentum is high. Add your name and let's finally get the Facebook reform our world needs: Sign the petition HUGE news -- 160 companies, including mega-giants Coca-Cola, Starbucks, and Unilever have announced this week that they're suspending all Facebook ads! It's an unprecedented response to the tech giant's disastrous disinformation and hate speech policies, which have already impacted elections and fueled real-life racist violence. Facebook is in full panic-mode -- 99% of their revenue comes from ads. Now they're doing damage control but the movement is picking up steam. If we can get more corporate giants -- like Proctor and Gamble, the world's largest advertiser -- to join right now, we could finally get the critical Facebook reform we've needed for years. But we need to push before the momentum drops -- add your name and share everywhere: Tell companies: Suspend your Facebook advertisements until it cleans up its act! Facebook has seemed totally unwilling or incapable of tackling the platform's problems. But now companies big and small are facing their own reckoning about systems of oppression, and many are taking note of Facebook?s hand in it. Just for example, Facebook has allowed incitement to violence against protesters in the US; turned a blind eye to blatant voter suppression; fanned the flames of genocide in Myanmar; and refused to call Holocaust denial "hate". Reform is badly needed. And since Facebook is almost entirely dependent on ad money, this campaign will soon pose a crippling financial threat if Facebook execs don't rethink their approach. Massive advertisers like Proctor & Gamble are on the fence right now, but could be pushed to join -- this is our chance to build the Facebook the world needs. Add your name: Tell companies: Suspend your Facebook advertisements until it cleans up its act! Our community was made for moments like this -- when pressuring companies to act leads to insurmountable impact. Let?s do it again, and help be the guiding light for how companies should move through and engage with the digital age.
