Officials highlight plight of migrants amid
pandemic
Migrants play a central role in society, and
countries should ensure pandemic recovery plans include and support them
regardless of their legal status, said United Nations Secretary-General
Antonio Guterres in an address marking International Migrants Day. Travel
restrictions and border closures prompted by the pandemic have stranded
approximately three million migrants around the world, many of whom have
also lost employment, says International Organization for Migration
