Subject: [UNFCCC youth] [Deadline: 30 Oct] Application OPEN for Youth Climate Scholarships 2019, and NDC consultation grants for youth-NGOs

  Hello all!

We hope this finds you well - we are very pleased to be writing this to you to share about two key opportunities for youth and youth NGOs working for climate action in the leadup to the 25th Conference of Parties (COP25) of UNFCCC.

NDC consultation grants under Youth for NDCs -

As you must be aware - The Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are instruments for countries to implement the Paris Agreement on the national level. However, the current NDCs are not sufficient, and lead us to a 4 degree warming pathway. Countries are due to revise their NDCs in 2020. However, at the moment, only 60 countries have committed to do so (representing only eight percent of global carbon emissions).

This is a call for youth and youth organisations to receive support for engagement in the consultation, and the design process of their country’s revised NDC.

a.. Do you have ideas, and concrete plans for how you want to engage and consult fellow youth in your country and your government on NDCs, NAPs, and related national climate change processes?

b.. Are you already working on such consultations and need further support?

APPLY NOW to receive funding grants, together with technical support and capacity building on your plan of activities. You can apply as an NGO, or a group of NGOs, or as a group of individuals working on national level processes. Deadline: 30 October, 17.00 UTC, Link HERE with more details.

  Youth Climate Scholarships 2019 -

Applications are also invited toward funded participation of young people, especially from developing countries, to COP25 in Chile. Selected youth will receive fully-funded support, together with capacity building and technical training on UNFCCC negotiations and allied processes. In case you are under 35 years of age, and working on this topic, and want to engage in UN climate change processes (and become a climate policy geek :-)), please apply ! Deadline: 30 October, 17.00 UTC, Link HERE with more details.

  ------------------------------------------------------------------

  Thanks and regards,

  Yugratna & team
