Today, days before we vote in the EU election, millions of young
people will march again to ask for our help. Tell them you’ll vote for a
climate chaos free future!
PLEDGE NOW!
Around 1.4 million young people in 123 countries skipped school on Friday 15
March to alert the world that their future is threatened by the climate
crisis. “We didn’t have a choice,” said the Swedish strike leader Greta
Thunberg. [1]
Today, days before most of us vote in the EU election, they’ll be repeating
the deed. Sunday 26 May is the day most Europeans will vote to elect the
people who should represent us and defend our interests over the next 5
years in a massively important institution: the European Parliament.
The marching outcry of the youth rebellion is to get us, adults, to take
action before their future is condemned forever. They march - but many of
them cannot vote on Sunday. Let’s tell them we are with them. What’s more,
let’s act in solidarity: vote for a Parliament that makes fighting the
climate crisis an absolute priority.
How will the marching youth know you are committed to voting so as to
protect their future? Pledge! Add your name to the thousands of Europeans
that have already made public their commitment to vote for a
catastrophe-less future for their children and the children of others. If
you’ve already pledged, inspire your loved ones to do the same!
Pledge and share
“Our house is on fire… I don’t want you to be hopeful. I want you to panic.
I want you to feel the fear I feel every day. And then I want you to act.”
[1] - Greta Thunberg
As adults, it’s us that Greta and the millions of young people and school
students who follow her are calling on. It’s us who have the right to cast a
vote on Sunday and elect the politicians who can make the climate crisis a
priority… Tell the children of the world you stand for their right to a
bright future: tell them you are voting on Sunday!
Pledge now to make your commitment public: when you announce your intention
to vote, you are actually becoming an influencer for the people around you.
Your friends, family, neighbours, colleagues… are all more likely to go vote
if you publicly announce you will, and you ask them to join you. We have
very little time before elections day!
Pledge now and inspire others
Marching on,
Olga (Bologna), Jörg (Lübeck), Virginia (Madrid), and the entire WeMove team
PS: Studies demonstrate people who sign a pledge are more likely to vote.
Moreover, people encouraged to vote by a person they know are more likely to
vote. If we want decisive action against climate crisis we have to vote. We
owe it to Greta and friends. Pledge now!
