                              41st Congress of the Nonviolent Radical Party, 
Transnational and Transparty (NRPTT) will be held in Rome from 5 to 7 July 
2019 at Auditorium Antonianum (viale Manzoni 1) beginning on Friday 5th July 
at 11 am.


                       On Wednesday 12 june an amendment by the PD (signed 
by Sensi and Giachetti) to save the Radical Radio with a 3 million loan for 
2019 was approved in the Budgetary and Finance Commissions. The League and 
all the other parties voted in favor, while the 5 Star Movement voted 
against.


                       The European Court of Human Rights has published the 
sentence on the case of Marcello Viola v. Italy (no.2).
                              The European Court of Human Rights held, by a 
majority, that there had been a violation of Article 3 (prohibition of 
inhuman or degrading treatment) of the European Convention on Human Rights.

                              The case concerned an irreducible sentence of 
life imprisonment.

                              The Court reiterated that human dignity lay at 
the very essence of the Convention system.The Court considered that the 
sentence of life imprisonment imposed on Mr Viola under section 4 bis of the 
Prison Administration Act (ergastolo ostativo) restricted his prospects for 
release and the possibility of review of his sentence to an excessive 
degree. Accordingly, his sentence could not be regarded as reducible for the 
purposes of Article 3 of the Convention.

                       Hong Kong. Hundreds of thousands of people have 
protested against the bill to allow extraditions to mainland China in the 
past days. Today organizers estimate that 2 million people have hit the 
streets in Hong Kong to protest, despite Hong Kong chief executive Carrie 
Lam suspended controversial proposal on saturday. Critics have said the 
legislation would expose people in Hong Kong to China's deeply flawed 
justice system and lead to further erosion of the city's judicial 
independence.

                       Iran will continue scaling back compliance with a 
nuclear deal unless other signatories to the pact show “positive signals”, 
the Iranian president said on Saturday as tensions with the United States 
escalated over tanker attacks in the Gulf region.

                              The United States accused Iran of being behind 
attacks on Thurday 13 June to the two oil tankers near the strategic Strait 
of Hormuz (which separates the Persian Gulf from the Gulf of Oman, strategic 
waterway through which around a fifth of the world’s oil supply is 
transported), while Theran denied responsability.

                       Food and Agriculture Organization of the United 
Nations (FAO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World 
Food Programme (WFP) warned the number of people facing critical lack of 
food in South Sudan is the highest ever.

                              According to the Integrated Food Security 
Phase Classification (IPC) update released today by the Government of South 
Sudan in collaboration with the three United Nations agencies,an estimated 
6.96 million South Sudanese will face acute levels of food insecurity, about 
21,000 South Sudanese will likely face a “catastrophic lack of food access” 
by the end of July while about 1.8 million are set to endure “emergency” 
food shortage and another five million are expected to be in “crisis”.
