If you couldn’t make it to the mass demonstration last Friday, there’s still a way for you to tell the President of the European Council that you expect him to stand up as a strong leader for climate justice in today’s Summit of EU countries! Take action for more funding to be committed to real climate action.

      Yes, I will.
Hi,

Greta has made it again across the Atlantic back to Europe! And she has joined an international crowd demonstrating again to show we want action, beyond words, to get our climate house in order.

If you couldn’t make it to that demonstration with Greta, there’s a way for you to speak to the heads of state of European countries (who are meeting today): send them a direct message they can't ignore!

Yes, I'll send an email that will only take a second!

Yes, I'll send a Tweet that will only take a second!

This year has been a tipping point for action on climate. People protest and demonstrate every week. So often that the European Parliament has just declared a climate emergency and the newly nominated President of the Commission has promised to make it a priority. When we speak together, politicians feel they need to respond.

But there’s one missing piece in the puzzle. Our governments!

Today Charles Michel, President of the European Council, will meet heads of EU countries in an important summit, and how to finance climate action is on the table. Many EU countries already support ambitious funding, but not all countries do.

If Charles Michel plays a firm leading role in these negotiations, he could be voicing our demands, the demands for more funding to be committed to real climate action, in a room full of politicians who rarely get to have a chat with people like you and me.

A flow of messages in his office’s inbox and Twitter wall will make it clear to Michel we are in the thousands, that Europeans are serious in our call for action.

Yes, I'll send an email that will only take a second!

Yes, I'll send a Tweet that will only take a second!

We can avert a flooded world, by flooding his inbox and Twitter wall! Michel cares about his international reputation, but he especially cares about what we think of him as Europeans: he has just taken on the job of President of the European Council.

We can win this one,

David, Virginia (Madrid), Jörg (Lübeck), and the entire WeMove Europe team

P.S. Everyone can see public messages sent via Twitter, and Michel’s staff will certainly notice an inbox full of messages from us. Even if his office pretends to ignore us, they can’t afford to, as his political reputation will be affected. Your action will make a difference. Send a message to Michel now!
